|TG| TacticalGamer.com (old)
I would like to know how the public would rate the Tactical Gamer server since 0.7 has been released. Please keep the criticism to a constructive format and feel free to tell us what we are doing good and what we are doing that aren't so good

Can you guys fix the kick for negative score? It kicks more good people than bad. I came in, joined a squad, we were getting spawn raped because it was the last flag left, there was an Anti Air asset so I start using that to spray the hillside where the fire is coming from, I get killed, and then I get kicked for having a negative score? Wonderful.

Oh **** sorry, it happened on Devils Brigade. My mistake. Though I think it sometimes happens on TG as well.unrealalex wrote:Can you guys fix the kick for negative score? Loosen up the auto-balance/smart-balance. It's very clan-unfriendly.
This makes it very difficult to hook up with clanmates who may be on the other team. For example, with 62 people online (32 vs 30), changing teams to play with friends is impossible.
Yes, I know that autobalance prevents teamstacking, unless playing with clanmates is considered stacking. A +4 or +5 allowance would be super rather than the +1 that basically chokes any attempt to freely move around.

I have toyed with this idea in the past...but seen it abused more often than not. I will take it into consideration now that 0.7 is out. I will talk with the other admins out this.Wolfe wrote:Loosen up the auto-balance/smart-balance. It's very clan-unfriendly.

Can you also reconsider the way you kick people to make room for TG members? I was a Squad leader, and had a full squad using Voip and following orders, we were attacking Government Office as the commander ordered me and I all of a sudden I get kicked to make room for a member...
Can't you kick players who just joined or players with the lowest score to make room? That would be a lot better than kicking randomly...

It is not random...it is scripted to kick the longest playing player.unrealalex wrote:Can you also reconsider the way you kick people to make room for TG members? Think about it...if we kicked the person with the lowest score, all new players that just joined would get booted.
Example: unrealalex joins the game, gets in a squad and before you can make any points...BAM...you are kicked for a supporting member! We kick the longest player let everyone get equal playing time. I think that it is an excellent idea, but that is my opinion.

I guess it makes sense but that way you kick people who have already invested time into the round and have stuff going on with their team/squads. If you kick someone who just entered, they can easily go join another server with no real loss. Would be a good compromise if there was a script that checked whether or not the server is full at the beginning of the round, before the game starts, and if the server is full, it would kick a couple of people who have been playing the longest for 20 minutes or so, thus giving new players the ability to join before the game starts.Dirtboy wrote:Think about it...if we kicked the person with the lowest score, all new players that just joined would get booted.

Great server, and as said before, I am willing to wait to join in. I'm a user at the TG forums and password night is a great idea. When i get on then I can always know that I will have good teamwork with others and have a great round. Although, I'm still confused about 62 out of 64. I've heard people say its for a supporting member, but I've never seen it 64/64.
Cheers
