Since PR 0.7 got many changes for tank/vehicles im gonna start this thread for different tactics.

Ok basically we should place all tactics in one thread. When we got nice tutorials / tactics i will write them down in a .pdf file including images and different map tactics (Could be made in HTML too whatever you guys want.)

So basically i will start writing down some formations at the beginning.
Tactic/Formation 1
Tank formations

Lets say you guys play Kashran Dessert... Its mostly a vehicle map since the new AA has been released. So for USMC and MEC i would give the follow formation (2 times)

Formation
2x Tank (2 Man tanks)
1x Engineer
1x AA Vehicle

Infos:
Once you start to play Kashran Dessert there are 4 tanks available wich should be used very tactical.
Why? When you got a good start at Kashran you can win the whole game!

Description:

Why 2 man tanks now?
Easy answer... Since 0.7 you got a 30 second delay by swichting between driver and gunner seat. If the enemy is a 2 man tank you will be down before you can aim him.

1x Engineer
This is a must! Once you get hit drive to a safe position and let him repair you!
Second thing he can do is when you have to cross a bridge he can put out the enemy mines. While he is doing it both tanks should give him cover!

1x AA Vehicle (if available at the map)
This is still a "must be". He will safe you while you supporting your Infantry squad etc... At Kashran Dessert it is the absolutely must be for every tank squad.
Tactic/Formation 2
Transporting
Since 0.7 you cant spawn at the Support Trucks or the APCs. Since this you have to keep your APC much more safley.

How to use the APC correctly now:

You never should try to use the APC than a tank by trying to down a enemy APC...
Sorry for the follow words but give a shit to the enemy APC. Give a short comment to the Tank squads.

Something like:
Tank Squad Alpha Enemy APC at this position (north village or whereever he is)

Or give a short comment to your Commander so he can organize the Tank squad for this operation.

NEVER WASTE THE APC WHEN YOU STILL TRY TO PLAY LIKE YOU HAVE DONE IN 0.6x or previous versions.
Since the 0.7 the APC is an very important transport vehicle. YOu should always have a gunner inside your APC.

Kashran Dessert Tactic:
You want to attack South or North Village! What you should do?

NEVER DRIVE INTO THE CITYS! Drive the squad you transport to the begining of the city and let them get out after that drive arround the city and try to give cover with your Heat rounds. Inside your city you are a easy target for Heavy ATs and mines even when you have a gunner.
If any other squad need transport break your cover and pickup the other squad and do the same again.

Tactic/Formation 3
Organisations
This is very important for a tactical playing team.
Before you start driving out with your Tank Squad make sure everyone got a microphone. If someone dont have it you should kick him without a warning or something. You better have someone inside your squad with an mic beside someone without. A mic cost arround 10$ everyone should be able to buy it.

APCs should have their own Squads now called: "APC Alpha" or "Transport 1" or something like that. Once you got 4-5 people inside you should lock the Squad.

Before the map starts make sure everyone know what he have to do like: xxx is the gunner and yyyy is the driver.

Kidds which cry like a ***** should be kicked without any warning. Mature gaming is the key of Project Reality and for a good working team.

Always make sure not everyone is the best so you should calm down when you die or something like that... It could happen to the best.

Tactic/Formation 4
Tank as infantry support.
The follow tactic is just for infantry support... DO NOT USE IT Tank vs. Tank!

Map examples: Ejod Dessert and Kashran Dessert

Ejod Dessert:

Ok this is the tactic for infantry support for the Ejod Dessert map.

Ok lets start with the descriptio now!
The Green line is for example Tank 1 and the red is Tank 2.

What the point of it?
Easy thing.

Tank 2 is supporting the infantry troops. Tank 2 got the biggest risk to be hit or be mined while he is doind it. But the effect of this tactic is really big! Enemys will be scared because of this tank and thats the point when your infantry comes in! They got enough secure for securing the flag step my step.
Tank 1 (green line marked) is the second supporting tank! He is watching gardens and the street in a safe position. (Both tanks should be in 1 squad). When the enemys got a bunker in Gardens for example he can kill people which run out of gardens because he got a good overview! He can kill incoming APC or vehicles.
Lets get back to tank 2 (our supporting tank.)

What should he do?
Ok basically the key is not how much you kill they key is how tactical you play. You should not waste your Sabot´s or HEAT rounds by fireing one infantry guy of the enemy team... Thats just wasting of important ammunition!
Now how he should do it correctly!
Before you drive into the city make sure your gunner is ready. You should only drive into the city when you got your HEAT rounds load up. Why? Sabot is only for heavy vehicles... HEAT round explosions are much more usefull for city fights (against infantry). Ok lets say you capture city right now. Before you infantry goes up for the flag drive to the flag without a break! (watch for mines) Onces you there... STOP! Smoke Drive a bit back SMOKE than your infantry got more security and they can start clearing everything arround the flag. When you see you infantry is under heavy fire... Show them what a tank is able to do! Use your tank as a ultra heavy waepon and give them the rest!
Once you cleared the flag wait for 1-2 minutes before you go for the next flag. Why? On this way you can see if they got a rally point anywhere... You can do that on all flags beside Gardens and Ruins. but the most important thing of the whole tactic is:
When you are the tank which drive into the city MAKE A 3-MAN TANK! (thied person MUST BE a engeenier!) He got the MG which is more usefull because he can effective attack enemy people which are trying to mine you. This tactic is extremly usefull for a good working team! Always stay in communiction with Tank 1 he see more than you! (Your Driver have to watch arround too!)


Kashran Dessert tactic:
South and North village? Take them out! Each house should be destroyed! When the enemys got no cover inside houses its much more easy to kick their asses! For bunker its a another one... Stay on the mountains in a safe position and give support fire for your infantry squads.

Tactic/Formation 5
Communication & Tactic & General vehicle ussage.
I think the follow tuts have been written already but i would like to rework them a bit... I would like to say thanks to all tutorial writers of the Tank section.


Communication
Here we go:
Ok at first before you start to move out with your tanks (At Kashran Dessert for example) perform a mic check! People without a mic are useless for your squad! Even when they got the uber hardcore skills they are useless! Why? Beside saying what they want at VOIP they have to typ it... The time they typ it you will be down... So everyone without a mic should be kicked... You dont know the skills of anyone so make sure you are NOT locking your squad!
On big maps like Kashran Dessert you got more than only 1 or 2 tanks... Thats why you guys need to make 2 squads! Call it Tank Alpha, Tank Charlie for example. You should always try to have 6 people inside your squad... 5 (one for the AA) Crewman 1 Engineer... Do this in both squad and you are almost impossible to kill!.

Only use the VOIP when its needed! no smalltalk about the weather or music.

Use shot description...
Example:

Tank at 258°
APC in WEST
Infantry at 257°

Schorter time... Quicker reaction...

General vehicle usage:
Humwee = useless??? HELL NO!

In the right hands the full loaded Humwee can be a nice thing... Quick missions for example: Daqing Oilfields... You lost a flag because of 2 people... And your squad is ready to fuk them up! Get your Humwee up get all people inside... And drive to the lost flag... One person will stay inside the MG and the other guys will clear the buildings for example... Humwee or Vodnik are not useless and should be not wasted by only one person transport... You can do this shit in BF2v but not in PR...

Support track:

NEVER WASTE IT!
Get your engineer kit and drive the sqauds to the flank... After that drive back... Support Trucks are needed because they can transport a whole squad without problems, and they can drop the hard needed Drops... You should never waste a Truck because its a really really needed vehicle.

my 2 cents, deploy troops in front of an APC and get the apc to move behind them, he can give cover fire or move up fast and pull the squad out.

lol? when alot of infantry is inside a city for example your whole squad will die because they are in front of the APC -.-

The infantry has to be behind the APC for cover.

I think that he want the apc to be like 50m behind the infantry so that the apc can give cover fire. Not 2m infront of it

Acording to the tactical situations, in this situation there is no threats to the apc and its an assualt on a fortification thease are the steps.

1 Scout bino checks the base for defence positions.
2 If avalabilaty to take out defence with ranged rifles or air support the defence is taken out before the assualt.
3 If there is no avalabilaty for advanced support apc sit of range and snipe the defence positions.
4 While apc is fireing at range infantry dismounts from the apc and spreads out to cover it also to get within safe distance if it gets blow to peaces.
5 Once clear everyone loads up the apc drives half the way down to the fortification.
6 Unloads the infantry.
7 While infantry is clearing the fortification apc cover form the dismount position.
8 Once clear, the apc drives into the base and acts as a defencive position.
9 If flag once taking they load up into the apc and drive out when its fully clear.

But than it would be still not usefull you have the squad in your APC... Than you drive to the city where the enemys are you let them jumb out and than you drive back and all your infantry guys die because they dont have any cover...

Define irony. A bunch of guys playing PR year after year. A game teaching initiative as the prime mover.
However, in regard to EA, these guys never took the initiative.
