A small point that bugs me.
Hi all,
I am a big fan of PR mod and on the whole I think the PR community is great. My issue is with squad locking, I know that in certin cases locking a squad is needed. But I find most of the time locking a squad gives off a snobbish feeling, like "I dont want no noobs in my squad..." totaly bashing the adopt a noob campaign!
Last night i was playing the fantastic new Fools Road map... but i soon got total pissed with the noob bashing attitude i got, there was 4 squads on my team, 2 full 6/6 squads and two 4/6 (both locked) squads, normally this is not a problem as i just ask for an invite as im a "TeamPlayer"!! (and not a newbie, been with pr since the first launch of 0.6)
however last night I was told where to get off by the locked squads, leaving me on a squad on my own with no RP and no chance of getting limited kits and walking for fecking ages to get to the fight!
NOW is that Teamwork??
Thanks All

many clans/ groups playing together with TS lock their squads to stop voip use from people and if people not on TS joined then they wouldn't have a clue on what was going on.

Smeg: Fuzz commands a lot and promotes good teamwork, db flips vehicles, Bosco is an all-round nub, Outlawz is an SP whore, Nickbond is a friggin ninja and Rhino gets kicked for being a n00b.

I understand that some people use TS and so on, but the thing that bugged me was in that situation I was forced into a 1 man squad, totaly usless in most situations and totaly lacking in teamplay/squadplay. I just want people to stop wasting teamspace by locking teams. What is wrong with having another squad member, even if he cant hear you through TS he still is a help to your team and can use your RP and get access to kits.

sounds like you joined half way through the round, otherwise you would be in one of the 6/6 squads ... if not then yes try squad leading, and if you prove yourself good enough people will stay in your squadnathanbassboy wrote:I understand that some people use TS and so on, but the thing that bugged me was in that situation I was forced into a 1 man squad, totaly usless in most situations and totaly lacking in teamplay/squadplay. Well usually the only time my friends lock squads is when we are waiting on someone, they usually let random people in, but as soon as they screw up ( Completely ignoring what were doing, i.e. flying a jet when we are in an armor squad, requesting a sniper kit when we are halfway across the map etc )
Then they usually get told, hey..... come on now we told you to be here, doing this and you went off on your own, and kick and lock...
I don't lead squads, just don't have it in me, but usually thats what happens with my circle of PR buddies, hate dealing with **** lol

Personally, I would prefer it if more people locked squads. Twice during .7 I've been in a squad, working as a team player, using my mic, playing whatever kit is needed etc and then they kick me to make room for a clan member.
Not only leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere, miles away from any other squad or vehicle, but all other squads were full (it was about an hour into the round).

Pointless thread ever
Some squads have a max number of people to be effective, such as sniper teams or sabotage squads. Others just don't want to play with randoms, just like it's your right to lock your squad also..

playing with clan mates really helps, if your tired of being left out of the loop then why not join a clan?
