WTF does autoready mean?

I dont remember it doing anything in vanilla bf2 and i still dont. Whats it for or rather what was it meant for?

It means that you join the game once its loaded and you are automatically placed on a team. All you have to do is press escape and then your in.

it was something that servers could enable so that the game wouldnt start until everyone had loaded up the map. i think it was supposed to be for tourneys, but it never really got used

Er, doesn't this disable the Join button on server load, and just automatically put you in the game once you're done loading. I know I have it off, so when a map is finished loading, I'll get a join button that I will have to press (several times, because BF2 is just AWESOME like that) before the load screen disappears and I get in the game.

nope, apperantly not since i've always had it on.

Yeah, it doesn't do anything most of the time. A nice feature that was never used I guess.
