Now that our gameplay depends almost entirely on communication using VOIP, i wanted to create a thread to help people set up there MIC's.
Half the time i cant hear you guys because you dont have your mic's boosted or set to proper levels.
One tip i have for you is to look in your control panel folder and toggle the mic setting under your sounds folder. many times its under recording and set to very low.
Set up your mic

Teh OMG major fix!!111111
Wow, I just found out why no one could hear my VOIP messages! Basically, if no one can hear you, try this:
Double-click the speaker icon in the lower-right corner of your screen, or double-click and choose 'Volume Controls'. From the Alternatives drop-down menu, choose Properties, and you'll find yourself in a menu which should include a list of checkboxes. Enable 'Mic Volume'. It'll very likely be set to a very low setting. Increase it to 50% or something.
Now to see if it's worked

To be honest people should know about this sort of thing when they buy a computer, in control panel there is almost always an option to toggle things, when in doubt check there first.
