Still pretty nice though. Is this going to be just the British Automatic Rifle or is this going to replace the current M249 as well?

Considering this weapon is meant to be used standing up (i.e. shortened barrel and telescopic stock), that would make NO sense whatsoever.

Yes, this is planned for the British Automatic Rifleman.
