Id like to know,

What purpose does the IR sight have, in the tank drivers position...?

The IR shows the distance.

Does seem a bit ridiculous. Can't use a laser range finder without going greyscale on us?

It's a IR visor? At first I thought that was Night Vision ... Oo
Sad the uber vehicular thermal vision is not implemented on Bi Ming yet :roll:

The FLIR was added as a toy; it doesn't really do anything other than add a range indicator.

There was a suggestion on another thread about tanks being able to laser designate a target, and I'm kinda hoping it could be added to the FLIR view, giving it more functionality.

It had more functions in earlier builds, but from what I understand they were dropped because there were some problems with them, leaving just the range finder.

Can u add night vision ?
Would be cool for the gunner too ?
And since u taught to add the "laser lock" to the tank why not give the commander-the 50 cal. man ! (im sure u taught of that earlier) and would add some use for the 3rd position to the tank besides the use of the 50 cal.

And before i forget, maybe NVG to APC's, IFV's...just maybe

And another one, can u add a second camera for the driver, before we had 360 rotation (the " front body camera" ) ?

if it can see through smoke thats cool :P

but seriously why dont we have the automated turret with the commander view??? would make far more sense seeing as no one ever uses the 50.cal (can't figure out how to duck...) and then the driver can have his real view back down in the hull, instead of getting that daft exorcist head thing from the CO periscope.

ggooooo on devvys :D CROWS 50 cal, normal driver view (maybe with IR that can see through smoke?)now the driver can't see behind him but the CO can there'd be a lot more teamwork and communication and with how valuble armour is in 0.7 (which I cant get enough of btw) I think we'd see a hell of a lot more 3 man tanks :D

Was one of these functions allowing the tank to laser designate?
