i think a faster walking speed for when your scope is raised is in order.
right now its about as fast as the prone crawl, which is pretty rediculous, its way to slow.
i'm thinking for cqb, people have their sights up all the time in real life, but in bf2 you can't do it because it's way to slow.
the only okay method now is spraying from the "hip" (which is actually the shoulder in game)

This is a great idea. You are pretty inaccurate when you are walking right now...might as well make it a faster movement then. This would definitely give some incentive/advantages to the ironsite guns big time and also make for some more realistic CQB stuff. Shooting from the unsited mode works I guess but doesn't have that cqb rainbow six feel in the least.

Do any of the devs know whether it might be possible to use the sprint key while the sights are up? So you can have a choice of how fast you can move with your sights, with a slight accuracy penalty? That might fix the problem if it were possible.

That would be a nice workaround, and getting two rates of movement is an A+ in my book.
