Laser guided bombs

Post by ralfidude »

Since .7 i have not been in a plane yet cuz all the noobs think they are top dog or something and end up getting shot by an AA tree, sooo i have a simpel question. I know the new laser guided system has been put in place, but how do u work it? I mean from a pilots point of view, do u see a marker on where ur going to place ur bombs on the HUD? ANd if so, do i drop them still manually and hope they hit the little marker like in the good ol days or are they actually guided by the lazer after i drop them off at that right altitude to let them arm? Can i still drop my bombs off manually without ground help? Ohh and one more, if the target is a moving tank, and one of my squad mates or whatever is lazing him, does the mark have to be still or will it follow the tank as its moving?

All your answers should be in this thread: How to properly use laser guided bombs?

ahh ya, i just just saw the video, im sorry for that, well there is still that question about a moving target... if its lazed, with the marker follow it or is the lazing done only for static objects. Also the GPS guided bomb is the manual release right, so its like in the good ol days when i dropped bombs, except much higher altitude... damn, im gonna have to get used to how the planes release the bombs for accurate bomb runs... could take time... but theres nowhere to practice... PR should release a single player map with planes and choppers for practice for noobs... ahh, just one of those things...

Yes, If you lase a tank and it starts to move the target box will follow the tank and the bomb will follow the target box.

and there is a way to practice on local:

1. start kashan or qinling

2. create a squad, request pilot kit and jump in to a jet of your choice (A10, Su25 frogfoot, J10 and the eurofighter all have laser guided bombs)

3. Apply for commander. Accept the request, taxi to the runway and take off.

4. Set a Red Cas order (the one with a laser target) somewhere on the map and try to bomb it. you can either bank a bit and hold ctrl and watch the bomb hit or set the Red cas order on some friendly vehicles, such as the tanks at the outposts on kashan or at the farm/chinese FOB on qinling this way you'll get "friendly vehicle damage" when you hit.

  1. create a squad
  2. get pilot kit
  3. apply for commander
  4. accept commander request
  5. Stay commander
  6. take plane
  7. taxi to runway
  8. take off
  9. set marker
  10. bomb
  11. crash on landing
  12. repeat

your supposed to apply, accept and stay commander after you have your pilot kit.

Do I need to make a video?

Create local should work for you. If not, you have something screwy.
