More than once, I had to land on a roof of a building to evacuate the injured due to landing restrictions in and around a city environment. All had temporary firebases for protection and strategic advantages purposes. So, the simple fact is that firebases have and always will be built on rooftops of hotels and various elevation positions is 100% real and happen every day...
Wish I had a picture of a mug of beer. I'd post it for ya Have one on me
Not a problem to drop a Landie on a roof top at all.But it does simulate a .50 position quite well.Without any protection from snipers/crackshots though.
But everyone knows a Land Rover can drive up vertical walls anyway.

I have to log on right now, get a firebase up there just so I can try out this theory ... "could I make it?"
Hold on, I have to make another post on the Helix forum to gather some more guys to experiment on this. Mayhaps friday? You know I'm not allowed to fly anything, but if a car was to suddenly get "wings" ...

I think the problem is that he got shot more than a little by the guys at the top, by the sound of it.
lol, and he is mad they didn't come down too huh. But in RL they build them up high to see far and keep control. Just be happy the M95 is not ingame now.
Occupying the hotel is fine, the unrealistic part is that you cant enter the hotel but thats just a question of the engine and map limitations
I bet the insurgents felt stupid and useless, the UK are the occupying force on this map and you guys are street rats.
The uk can only have 1 firebase afaik so its not like its an extreme exploit. So now they own this part of the map and its as it should be. An army should easily be able to hold a position
RPG would be a hard shot and 50 cal would get troops to and from the fb I guess but that position would be hard to assault, not impossible though.
My personal attempt would be via the insurgent officer kit which has a grenade launcher, does it still fire smoke? Certainly the arc should allow a nade to land on top of the skyscraper

so spawning is now too unrealistic for you.

man do you just like to *****?.. or do you actually have a point to make?
How many posts in this thread need to prove you wrong before you listen.
AND ANYWAY IT'S A GAME!

Yes it was allready said a land rover can be lifted onto a roof top if need be. I was reading about the super stallion helicopter I think its called, it can lift a blackhawk!

Weren't we bitching about the firebase?
Seems every time someone states pure fact you naysayers just move onto the next thing... Christ where will it end, with some suppressing fire, rpg's mostly TEAMWORK! that firebase would be gone, why not put Ieds on the bottom of the ladder and blow up anyone who comes down?
What's so odd about this, the mod encourages team work and they're only fortifying a hostile position right in the middle of a combat area. Just because it over looks the mosque where 75% of insurgents spawn doesn't make it a bad thing, theres been tons of instances through out history where different military's have fortified a position to fight a battle. Hell the last time I checked thats all they do in Iraq right now right?
Don't like it? Pull your guys off from IED'ing the bridges, camping the airport entrance and protect your caches, so until then cry all you want because this should stay I say.
