Superb Gaming

Post by Fullforce »

Whoa. What an experience. Thats all I can say.

In two short days of playing 0.2, this has revolutionised the way I look at BF2.

I played 0.1 for a short while when it originally came out, nothing struck me as particularly amazing, just die. die. die.

But now, with a new pc, its amazing.

Notable Moments - Zatar Wetlands, the amount of lead flying was phenomenal! Suppression really works in this game. Flanking round the US troops on the hill and hitting them hard was amazing. The lack of vehicles also is very good. Heres a great example of how good it is.

Oasis - coming underfire and using the broken shell of a Vodnik for cover, sh!tting myself. Then I notice the bullets are hitting the wreck and making it slowly tip down the hill towards me and my buddy. Rapid redeployment followed.

The jungle one (can't remember what its called) was phenomenal. Just totally fits the style of the game, so atmospheric and, just damn amazing.

I'm so happy with this mod, after I found it not-so exciting originally - its a breath of fresh air and its amazing.

Superb work to everyone who played a part in this, can't wait for the British Forces to come out.

Thanks to nb_trooper, wolfmaster, and Magicman, and loads of other people I can't remember, it was amazing to play with you.

I agree with the first post wholeheartedly. This is what BF2 should have been in the first place.... Plenty of full squads, much more voice comm.... Greatly reduced numbers of idiots [not seen any yet, but i'm new to this so i'm hedging my bets!]

I love the way that moving from one building to the next becomes a major evolution, rather than the "i'll just run straight across this bullet-torn space" of vanilla. I also love cowering behind cover as an MG lights up the area around me..... Great mod, just my cup of tea. Expect to see much more of me!

Oh yeah, and the fact that the community is quite small is a plus too.... nice to read posts from the people you've been gaming with.

EDIT:

Mmm, British forces. About time we got some representation!

Hell yeah. I can't wait to kill some people with a good ol' SA80 in my hands.

I think one of the major points about this game that reduces its "Noobfactor" (is that even a word... it is now!) is because:
a) Its a mod. Mods take effort to download.
b) Its so relentless, so brutal, that the average player just goes "I don't like this" and throws it down. Exactly what I did before.

Suppression ACTUALLY WORKS! Its amazing! Because the enemy knows that if they expose themselves, they will die, they keep their bloody heads down. In BF2 they couldn't care less, they've got so much health, who cares?

Btw, just had quite simply a mindblowing game on Karkand. Had to fight for every step.

As for Sir., I think i'm the only Sir that plays it, but i'm trying to spread the word as best I can. Good job on the trailer btw, if anyone goes "Wtf is teh PRMM" i just hit them up with that trailer. superb.

I love the suppression in this game. Amazing firefights at Oasis (but the US usually wins due to the accuracy of their weapons).

I had a pretty good firefight when I was using a big ol' pipe as cover. I killed at least six enemies and then the round ended.

I'm currently trying to convert most of my clan to this. Just had a go in abadan, some good firefights, but it gets bogged down near the harbour and checkpoint too often.

This is what BF2 should of been. You've turned a decent game into a darn good one :)

Supresion, flanking, getting rid of stat whores (unranked servers), getting rid of personal vendettas and individualism, valuing your life, moving in a team with different classes. And the general feeling of '****' i'm getting shot at, particularly with the MG's

Was playing in Desert Wolf's server and my squad was pinned down in a base building, because of a enemy Support Gunner spraying from the top of the construction site. Had to throw a smoke grenade, and split the squad up in order to flank him :D

I also remember being in a ditch with my squad near the maintenance buildings on Dalian, every few seconds, popping up and taking shots, throwing med bags etc

Looking foward to the full version with new weapons and British vehicles :)

Love the new sounds too, really adds to an immersive experience. Love the job you did on the M4 too, one of my favourite guns in RL.

Have just completed your survey btw

All of my friends that I play BF2 with have now atleast tried PRMM, and most really like it. My older brother loves it (for the most part) but that would be expect as he's Army infantry.

My favorite map is probably the 16-player verison of Zatar wetlands because it turns into a king of the hill match and that makes it enjoyable. I wish that all the "main base" flags on the 16-player maps would be uncapturable. I was playing yesterday and we all agreed to not capture the main bases and it was a blast (until three ****tards came in and wanted to be asshats) as the games lasted quiet a while and you really saw good squad and defensive tactics being used (especially on Gulf of Omen). Thanks to everyone who was in the squad yesterday.
