What if all these brits request pilot kits and parachute down? ^^ Sorry, couldnt resistSadist_Cain wrote:Weren't we bitching about the firebase?
Seems every time someone states pure fact you naysayers just move onto the next thing... Christ where will it end, with some suppressing fire, rpg's mostly TEAMWORK! that firebase would be gone, why not put Ieds on the bottom of the ladder and blow up anyone who comes down?
There's countless suggestions of what to do
Fire bases on top of hotel, Al-Basrah

Yes your right, but i tell you what will happen = bunch of guys up there with the firebase & unlimited amo nade spaming and the others on a snipe fest. i just think it could be used to exploit the map/game.IAJTHOMAS wrote:OP, if you didn't ike it, the worts thing you could possibly have done was post about it on the PR forums. Every SL on here will be doing it now![]()
But hey i like a challenge and if that map becomes just two big fire fights at the vcp & the hotel il still play anyway cos this mod is the best game there is out there.

hell yes. I've done this before in 0.6 and it works
the whole team with the merlin going back n forth
the shock works well
I quote the public chat...
"Whats that?"
"that there in the sky"
"where? oh there..."
"christ I think its james bond..."
"we'd better run if it is
"
get rid of nade reload points from firebases. or make them limited, can't stand nade spamming

Setting up a position on the tallest building around is definitely realistic. We set up on top of the tallest building in Fallujah for about 24hrs one time. This building towered above everything else in the area, and it was a great OP.
Crazy thing was that after we left, a couple of SEALs stayed up there. Four hours later, a Bradley fired one TOW and a few hundred 25mm rounds into their position (apparently, the bradley crew saw some insurgents, which turned out to be the SEALs with no shirts and dew rags). Luckily, none of SEALs were hurt. Of course, after we took our air panel down, the SEALs never put one back up, so it’s kind of hard to blame the Bradley crew.
I guess the point I’m trying to make is that setting up an OP on top of a tall building is realistic, just don’t wear dew rags when you do it.
BTW, I know there are exploits that make it difficult to get to the squad, but I think it can be done with a little teamwork.

Do Ins. still have SVD's as ammo cache spawns?
I'd think an Ins. with an SVD hiding in the mazes of the city below would be able to take out many of the British snipers before they even knew where he was...
Sniper on roof = silhouetted easy target
Sniper in city = hard to detect when you're the silhouette

I don't have energy to read all the posts so it's possible I'll repeat something that's been already said (even if so, it'll just confirm it).
As far as I know you need a commander truck to deploy any firebase or bunker. We all know how commander truck looks like - it's an extremely slow, very loud, vulnerable to flip over piece of metal junk with no defense whatsoever (unless you count troops shooting from the back as a defense - honestly, how many times did you killed someone this way ?)
Now, this previously described vehicle has to get trough the city to the hotel building. I must ask myself - what went wrong, why did it make it all the way here ?
If you're not able to take that truck on its way there, OK, but in order to be able to deploy the firebase the commander/squad leader had to climb that extremely long ladder. Both him and the truck were completely defenseless. You had at least 1 minute to either take out the SL/CO or, even better, the truck itself.
Ah and BTW, thanks for the tip, I really gotta try this out someday
