Please, bring back claymores.

Post by icehollow »

Claymores, the ultimate ambush tool in --- or at least they used to be in PR. Honestly Devs I loved what you did with the claymore in 0.5 and made them remote activated like the real thing, it made for highly useful ambushes in the forest/jungle maps and was good because those that knew how to use them properly would and the noobs that didn't would just leave them there waiting for them to explode and get killed instead.

AP rifleman used to be my favorite class in 0.5. What I'm asking is if you could somehow bring back the claymores for the next hotfix/patch. They are extremely useful in the right hands. C4 is too powerful/too precious to waste on infantry tagets, SLAMs can't be used effectively for the same task due to the time limit.

They would be especially useful for the spec ops request kit although as I understand it, they can't have anymore equipment slots.

Is there any chance we might see a resurgence of the claymores?

 ,

Ice.

I agree that claymores would be an nice addition to say, the Spec Ops class. The other explosives aren't really suitable for such a task.

Even as a request kit/pickup kit they would be great.

Give them to the ironsights rifleman class. That class needs all the incentive it can get.

Well that's a pretty positive response so far, I was expecting more people coming in here telling me about how they've been removed for the benefit of gameplay and realism.

You know...I'm not a fan of claymores and HATE getting killed by one. BUT giving them to the ironsite rifleman sounds great imo. No proximity, only the remote detonation. I haven't thought much about it but it seems cool if the rifleman has room for it. Lots of defense going on these days...might be quite the fun weapon.

Sniper squads in real life use them. Usually to deter and kill enemies that are advandving on their position, but still. Imagine having you sites fixed on a path, seeing a squad walking through, you blow the clamores, and start picking off the survivors!

Yeah, my idea is stupid.

Give it to the spec-ops or ironsight rifleman!

Iron sight rifleman would be nice, maybe to the enginner, because the Iron sight rifleman would be replenishing ammo

The engineer equipment.
1. Knife
2. shovel
3. rifle/shotgun
4. C4
5. mine
6. wrench
7. binoculars/NVGs
8. fielddressing
9. grapple, on some maps

theres no more room for more equipment

also Hfett, He can still resupply his own grenades and rifle ammo so why would it be wrong to resupply your own claymores?

You could add 'bigger' ammo to the claymore then the amount of ammo the ammo bag contains. (if that's how it works :P )

And yes, I want the claymores (remote controlled ones) back. :D

I guess if we put a max limit of 4 or 2 claymores on the world(placing more would make the last one disapear) it should not be a problem

Guys in real life a Claymore need to be fixed with a line or something... Once someone reached the line and hit they away a Claymore explode... Second way for using a claymore is using that thing (dont know the name :S) which you got by the C4... YOu place them (as a sniper for example) than you can let them explode by using your mouse (shoot key)

Claymores would fit in perfectly with the new gameplay, I say bring em back! (remote controlled that is)

Yes, long reload time claymores for unscopped rifleman would be great.

Give a couple of them to Spec Ops. So the class can be used for sabotage and ambushing.

In 0.5 claymores were my favorite piece of uquippement(sp??). Its just lovely to place when facing a road and kill half of the ppl in a car when they drive by :D
