increased bullet penetration?

I don't understand why a hummer's door would be penetrable soucy, they're designed to protect AGAINST that sort of penetration. So I agree, but it seems like a foolish comment.

Actually, the 7.62 can easily tear through the light armoured doors of a humvee. That is why the 'up-armour' kits have been placed on many of them (or the troops just weld metal on there to give better protection). The only thing is, the humvees in this game do not show the kits on them. So it would makes sence to me if someone with an AK shoots at the driver and then the driver is killed. Not to mention what RPG-7's, AT mines, IED's, etc. can and have done to them.

All statics in BF2 come with a penetration code which, at default, is set to zero (excluding the metal fences). Just change a few numbers and voila! Bullet deviation and damage after the penetration takes up the most work I believe.

0 i believe? Not sure if you can penetrate destructable buildings tho. I think im gonna try that out

Alright, you can penetrate those destructable buildings even with 5.56mm :D

Several things are penetrable in BF2 and PR at the moment.

Unfortunately, BF2 material / penetration abilities are very, very complex and opaque. But we're working on it.

Some things that are currently penetrable (it's usually either all or nothing with vBF2):
tin fences
destructible buildings
5 ton truck armor

and my .7 proof of concept change: .50cal rounds versus vehicle glass (except attack helis).

Look for BIG penetration changes in .8.

I think these civilian car wrecks are penetrable too. No idea since when or if even in 'nilla, just saw a bullet hole on both sides after shooting at it. Never been shot through one...

And the vehicle mounted MG's have .50 cal. And the heavy sniper rifles had, but they are removed.

That is one thing I like about the COD4 demo, that you could shoot through things. Can´t wait for the new penetration! :smile:

This will be awesome, I already tell things like armour and such to try shooting through the walls with ap rounds to clear behind them.

Id there a way to reduce damage of a bullet as it goes through material and give it more deviation?
Would be cool if a rifle at the limits of pentration through a wall and the guy on the other side feels like hes constantly being hit with painful heavy rocks (as the wall "breaks apart")

Picture crawling behnd the wall hearing the sound of the round slamming into it and getting that lil nick of pain as you get clipped
