Chopper Slide slide slipity slide
Whats the deal when landing a chopper and it starts sliding across the ground backwards uncontrolably? Is that me not understanding the tweaked flight model or is it a bug?

Funny...I actually really like the backwards slide. To many times I come in for a quick landing and out of nowhere my nose starts to drop and the thing is like flipping forward or some nonsense. This extra bit of backward thrust (easy to control on the keyboard) totally takes care of that.

I have no idea what you are talking about here...I've been practicing in the choppers ALOT and I have never had this happen once. I use a mouse/keyboard. If you have a joystick it could be that it's not calibrated perfectly yet.Mora wrote:it doesn't matter if you press S. when you hop in a chopper you automatically slide backwards or forwards.. very annoying.. especially the havoc on kashan, when you hop in and do nothing (for some reason) you crash with your tale in the wall and then you're done.

The problem with chopper controls in PR is that they seem to be designed for mouse and keyboard. With a joystick, you need to position the throttle perfectly mid-way between max and min setting in order to stop sliding. It's counterintuitive, and makes flying a chopper with a joystick somewhat awkward.

it happens always when the havoc has spawned. hop in and do nothing for about 3 till 5 minutes ends up as a dead havoc because it slightly slides backwards and your tale rotor hits the wall causes a immediately death. i have seen this quite a lot times now..VipersGhost wrote:I have no idea what you are talking about here...I've been practicing in the choppers ALOT and I have never had this happen once. Ah well I have never hopped in and sat in one spot in a chopper for 5 minutes. I guess I could test that on a local server. Why are you sitting there for 5 minutes? Seems odd but I'm no expert...just curious.Mora wrote:it happens always when the havoc has spawned. hop in and do nothing for about 3 till 5 minutes ends up as a dead havoc because it slightly slides backwards and your tale rotor hits the wall causes a immediately death. i have seen this quite a lot times now..
