You gotta take into account the things a borderline sniper rifle too, with the accuracy and power it has. So it being a little much to handle in CQB probably evens it out a little.

IMO it should by far be the worst CQB gun as far as the AR's go. There is a very good reason that the best CQB teams in the world use 5.56 weaponry or less.

The G3 has been used by a great number of european countries, as well as copied internationally, and it is the basis for every roller-action weapon on the planet. To dismiss it as inferior to the M16 series out of hand is ridiculous.
I'm pretty sure he is talking about in game, not about real life.

Although I can't be bothered with reading all of the posts here, I do have this message for the OP. The G3 does a very good job if you actually aim. I'm not saying that there is no other way to use it, but if you actually want to hit something, never mind actually kill it, it really helps to aim at what you are shooting at.

Wow, how about you read my statement before you comment on it? I was referring to ingame, not real life.

I agree that the G3 has an obviously horrible recoil and that even IRL it woudln't be such.
I keep seeing MEC guys go in a frenzy to grab US kits, and it's sort of justified : Ingame, the M16 owns the G3 at medium and close range, because of less recoil.
*Get used to it* is unconstructive. I'd like to see how realistic is the kickback of this gun, and how could occidental armies have buyed it if it's so horrible at both long and short range because of it. Also, what about balancing?

G3 is fine... just pull your mouse "down" faster when using full auto ;)

I do find the recoil on G3 sky-high, it looks like the soldier that's shooting it, has no idea how to hold it IMO.

I went flanking a suppressed USMC squad on Ejod with a G3, fired 3 shots and the iron sights jumped so high I had no idea, wtf just happened and the USMC guys just turned around and shot me in the face with the M16.

I do find recoil on other weapons quite right, though, sometimes it's actually better to use single shot and fast-click than full auto, which seems more realistic to me, since IRL soldiers don't hold down triggers while on full auto, because they'd have to reload every 3 seconds not to mention the in-accuracy :p

The G3 is actually pretty accurate and well simulated ingame.. Have you ever shot a G3 IRL? the recoil is hard and muzzle climb high especially while standing up! And don't even think about hitting anything with more than the first shot if you are standing up shooting it full auto on something that is 50 meters away or farther..

the 7.62x51 NATO is powerfull ammo that is shooting a heavy projectile..

But afaik the G3 is less accurate than the 5.56's in game, at least i was reading something like that... and that sounds strange to me.

Another guy complaining about the recoil on the G3, really, it's a tad exagerated in the game. Perhaps it could be toned down a bit.

Cheers!

I'm not so sure it's exaggerated. Remember you usually looking out of a scope, so the recoil is going to seem big for sure. Shoot it using the ironsites and it looks very close to what you'd expect from a big gun. Remember the G3 has approx 4x the amount of recoil as the M16 IRL. M16 shoots a very small round, not even legal for hunting 100lb deer in some states.

The G3 isn't that much less accurate in-game. See the results from my testing of the different AR's at 100yds, lying prone and shooting in 1.5 second intervals approx.

The problem isn't the scoped in rate, its the fact that it has a ridiculous amount of muzzle climb when unscoped. And given this the fact that it is only about as accurate as the 5.56 rifles just totally fubars it.

I apologize. I found your statement very unclear.
