Ok, to further expand on my questions re training areas. I note from youtube that you can start a Local Server to train in. Is this a good idea? and is there anything I need to know to create one?
Thanks again.

Local Server Query
Without a rider a horse is a charger of the Gods. But a man without a horse will only ever be a man.

You don't really need to do anything besides clicking "create local server" and picking a map. You might wanna mess around with Battlefield 2\mods\pr\python\game\realityconfig_private.py, which will allow you to lower spawn times, and request times for kits (useful if you wanna try out several kits in quick succession without having to stare at the screen for 60 seconds every time you want a new one). This file affects only local servers that are passworded (IIRC), but feel free to make a backup anyway.
The training Kashan version that's out might come with its own version of the settings file with the times already reduced, in which case editing stuff might no longer be needed.
