Lol a few minutes seems like all you need to fix the choppers completely! I'm glad to hear there is hope here. I really enjoy the stuff you did with the planes and I don't even use them (joystick coming soon). I hope we can get some similar treatment to the choppers in the upcoming patch or something....I really think it would be worth it.

Doesn't the Abrams have rounds for helicopters and low flying planes?

Choppers missiles are supposed to out range those by quite a bit.

From what I understand, the Merkava IV (the tank the IDF uses) was designed with the capability of tracking and shooting down enemy helicopters.

As Rhino pointed out in your thread that got closed, the issue is the engagement range. Just because you can't find a tank taking out a chopper on google doesn't mean they can't.

With the sort of battle space we're limited to, any commander would be crazy deploying transport choppers within miles of enemy armour anyway.

imo in pr tanks main gun should be moved by cursors (up, down, left, right) its will be more realistic for infantry watching this tank and harder to shoot down heli

@bsurd, the only thing unrealistic about tanks engaging helicopters in PR is the small sizes of the maps do not allow each vehicle the advantage or disadvantage of its weapons ranges, so it happens more frequently than it probably would in reality. The cold hard facts are that tanks can elevate their main guns and coaxial machineguns up to and including 20 degrees, and these guns have a very long range. If a helicopter crew has poor situational awareness and finds themselves outside of the main-gun's dead space and not moving fast enough relative to the turret of the tank, they can and will be hit. There are rounds designed for this purpose and gunners train to engage them if necessary.

IFVs, which can elevate their 25 or 30mm cannons from 45 to 75 degrees depending on model (and generally have a faster rate of traverse than a tank) can be an even bigger threat to helicopters than tanks.

The turret rates of traverse we have now are authentic.

Has a cap been put on them then? I seem to remember there being problem with simply increasing sensitivities, to override certain values for turn rates and such.
