I was going to put this in server admin but it applies much more broadly than that so I am posting it here.
I am utterly sick of getting kicked from servers for saying 'noob' or 'idiot', I can understand the swear words, but what the hell do they want from me?
I know their server their rules etc. but I never see any warnings, it's almost always one strike and your out, I am currently banned from IGI for triggering the wordfilter twice.
Please for the love of god put up some warnings! Give people a chance! You can't just twist your playerbase into nice guys by banning those who insult others, it's a fact of the game and people will always find a workaround.
Is anyone else as sick of this as I am?

"you're being a plonker - making noob choice" or something to that effect!
I've removed the ban just now, but stop using derogatory language, because it antagonises the members and just creates friction over time!
If you want to point out peoples lack of logical abilities then be subtle about it, chocolate fireguards and all that.

Alex said 'Not playing as commander much means making nooby choices' or something to that effect, so I said 'or being a plonker means making noob choices 0_o' anyone sense the sarcasm there? no?
Anyway, that is besides the point, there is still a big issue surrounding this and I don't want personal problems to get in the way.

But even in your sig here you use foul language. At least "George Bush" isn't in the dictionary as a swear word yet

if you use the literary term "*******" to mean someone born to a single mother it is fine in certain literary conditions, but "emo-*******"?? that's derogatory and used as a swear word not called for really as it's just insulting.
Till the differences and the rule "the correct language for the situation" is followed then people will tend to find themselves falling foul of swear filters that are there to protect others sensitivities.

What I am saying is that I saw no warnings whatsoever that bad language would cause a kick, or a list of disallowed terms. This forces people to learn the hard way and mightily annoys them.
