army reserves
i was thinking how about a map where you have reserver armys ? because in a large conflict armys would have to call on reserevr forces. like for example the USA troops would have the old 16a2 instaed of the A4.or maby the chinese will have some type 56s &type 81s( would have to be moddled but would be worth it )

Well i know the TA are integrated into the regular forces when the British Army operate, they don't fight under another flag or as a separate entity tho, not sure if any other nations do this, does the national Guard (TA's equivalent) intergrate in to the regular forces or operate separately?
And if so is it worth the effort to put in the game when they wear the same uniform and use exactly the same equipment as the regular forces
I dont think so.

Unlikely... in a major, full-scale conflict all troops, be they active duty or reserve are likely to receive top of the line equipment, as the country's entire industry would end up mass producing the latest military grade hardware. You're even likely to see experimental and prototype equipment on the frontlines.dead fish12345 wrote:i was thinking how about a map where you have reserver armys ? because in a large conflict armys would have to call on reserevr forces. like for example the USA troops would have the old 16a2 instaed of the A4.or maby the chinese will have some type 56s &type 81s( would have to be moddled but would be worth it )
Also, in the case of the Chinese, having troops with QBZ-95s and others with Type 56 and Type 81 assault rifles would cause some serious logistic issues (especially considering the mass amount of troops they would have). Being that one rifle uses 5.85mm ammunition, and the others use 7.62mm ammunition.

The difference between reserve and frontline troops on the battlefield is basically training. As reserve troops have jobs outside of the military as their primary focus, they are not going to be as proficient as frontline troops. Before a deployment reserve troops receive a refresher courses and training to get them back to a competent level. Overall, for the purpose of PR, they should be portrayed the same way.
