Gah. We have now all agreed that PLA SF do not use the QBZ-95B.

You say use it anyways.

I say, why use it, when it is not realistic, and it is a vBF2 model.

Instead we could use the realistic QBZ-95, which they do use and it is a PR model.

I do not understand your "less work/placeholder" statement. The QBZ-95 is already made and in game and is used by the PLA rifleman.

So we can all agree on that the Chinese SF doesn't use the B version yes? And from all the info GeZe and others gathered it's not used by anyone in the PLA.

So why use it in PR?

For the same reason that it's not realistic to have chinese fighting the united states yet we see them fighting... things could change with time.
, and it is a vBF2 model.
Since when was PR so afraid of vanilla models?

can a military advisor please post here telling us what weapons PLA tankers use. I think it's just a regular QBZ95, but I also think that we should give them the QBZ95B because it's supposed to be a PDW after all and it adds a little variety.

Yes, I have no idea what PLA tankers use. I searched a bit but found no pictures.

I posted here:
PLA crewman weapon? - Military Photos

To see if anyone will respond. They are usually quiet knowledgeable, so hopefully I get a good response.

The QCW05 seems like a contender.

I have only ever seen PLA tankers armed with pistols. As to the APC/IFV crewmen (here in the US they are infantrymen trained to operate the vehicle), not sure.
Cool, is it the L22A2 carbine? i think it was discussed in another thread but it would be nice to see that for the crewman. I said mp5 out of randomness really because I've seen a few pics of British soldiers with them, are they rare?
Yes, that's correct, and it was discussed in another thread. As for the MP5 in UK service, it is type-classified with an "L" designation, but I do not know its basis of issue. I have not heard of it or seen photos of it used outside of UKSF. Its "bigger brother," the HK-53 is also type-classified in use by Royal Military Police Close Protection details. Perhaps that is what you saw?

PRC_Heavy_Z said that the QBZ-95 can be modified to have 3RB, and that police units often do this.

Perhaps, keep the 1/3/A on the one the SF is getting, and the 1/A for the Infantry?

The QBZ95 does not currently mount any kind of reflex sight.

I'll get you for this Jaymz! I'll get all of those involved! :-x
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

I like this idea. I actually kinda hate 3RB on QBZ-95\Optics. It is absolutely useless with 4x zoom..

p/s about tank crewmans - I don't know exactly how they are armed in other armies, but soviet\russian army tank crew had either PM's or APS's as a PDW and one AKS-74U (though almost all of them tried to replace that piece of shit with AKS-74 during combat missions) inside of the tank. British tankers use L22 afaik, MEC would probably use G3KA4 (my sweet dream is to give them MC51 though - or P90 :p ). US - M4?
