Squad Leaders and Rally Points

Post by xseeyax »

I'm sorry to complain but I have to say something. You devs have done an AWESOME job with this mod, .7 is sick.B U T !! I always come into these servers with one squad named voip + tw or something with a full 6 people and a rally point out and everything. They are moving up together and all that good stuff.

Then there is these 4 or 5 manned squads who are scattered all over the place, dont put a rally point and dont work as a team. So please if you make a squad please plan to be a leader, unless you have to then once someone joins your squad just ask for help. All those other people out there who make a squad and who want to be leaders, please DO NOT just drive into enemy territory. Put a rally point or two. .7 Is all about the rp's and teamwork.Thank you :D .
If you believe in Jesus Christ , have accepted him as your lord and savior, and are 100% proud of it, put this in your sig .

Even worse when the SL goes into a heli/tank/apc and doesn't lock the squad, leaving it the only open one :/

My attitude it 'if I don't like how the SLs are behaving I make a squad called ENG VOIP and do the job they were meant to be doing.'

Side note- its amazing how many non-voip enabled ppl join a "VOIP" squad.....

I'll be very glad when they add in another structure rank into the next BF. Something bewteen Squads and Commander that allow for multi-squad maneuvers. I suppose that would be called a Platoon Leader. Which would make the commander a Company Commander technically.

Specifically for organization and VOIP reasons so that SL can talk to other SL in their Platoon. How often do you have two Squads working on the same objective. Comm between them would be invaluable.

I see what you're saying, but I don't think it would be a good idea to add another administrative layer to the battlefield. This might be cool on private servers, but in public games it's just another chance for some d-bag who has no idea what he's doing to take control.

Some have it turned on, but can't speak. Nothing wrong with those really, they just can't say anything :p

Some folk don't have microphones but listen very well and show some signs of responsiveness in VoIP only squads, so we in the [T&T] squads (TACTEAM 1/2/3/4/ etc) allow them to join us.

Players like CrisisOmega (dubbed 'The Silent Warrior') listen and work extremely well, despite having no microphone.

The problem with plea threads, OP, is that the morons doing all the... moronic... stuff in game, as a general rule don't care about it enough to read these forums, so you're effectively preaching to the converted :(

I have no problems with people not talking in my squad if they at least are listening. If they respond with Roger That and Negative, that's enough. And there's a lot of other (new) radio commands available as well.

If they wonder off on their own, or if they take too long to do something I ordered like requesting a kit, manning a .50 cal or stuff like that, then I'm sorry, but it's a kick. There are sometimes where you have to repeat yourself 4 times, and that's not what a SL wants to do at all. When you get everybody listening, the gameplay flows naturally, and doesn't require that a player speak back, but only do whatever he's told. Actually, sometimes there's too much talking, and some silence is well received imo. :p

is there a way to make it on the command channel that SL's can talk to CO and other SL's. that mite make the whole team have better cordination. instead of asking CO to relay...

Some servers don't allow squad locking. And I hate it when people join an armor squad, simply because there is no other open squad, and then go off sniping or something. That makes it more annoying for the SL, who probably already has to manage 1 or 2 tanks, and then has to kick people who join the squad and demand that he places a rally point or, worse, go off sniping from a hilltop somewhere.

Hard-coded, cannot be done.
