not really a good idea IMO as that means you have anouther player off the ground which all he is doing is pushing a button to deploy a crate, which atm we need to get the door on the merlin really in the control of the pilot so this also aint a issue with him.

and no, cant have the pilot able to switch seats with the engine warmup time, unless you want to crash or spend ages powering up the engines again :p

Seeing as the number of seats in vehicles is limited, probably best to have as many passenger seats as possible.

I remember in joint operations the co pilot rather than the pilot was in control of the flares, this caused so many ppl to punch their fists through their monitors that it indicates this isn't a good idea in PR.

I also agree with Rhino it all comes down to CREW COORDINATION for transfering the controls, and as i only play in private servers thats not so bad but, for the masses i don't think it would work because there is enough fighting over the air asssets already just imagine if they are fighting in the cockpit.

Also i dont know how many people i would trust to hand the controls to. :)

I have to agree with Rhino as well. This is not a good idea. We have enough people TKing for aircraft as it is right now. I think a major thing to help cool down the jet/chopper nuts, would be to make more aircraft spawn quicker for better use and ease of access. It might also help to include more than 1 jet per side on a map thats as big as Golf of Oman. It helped a lot in BF2142 and now nobody whines about the fact that they can't get any aircraft time because we have 4 aircraft per team that spawn with good spawn times, and give both noobs, and vets a chance to use them.

If we could come up with a smiler system, and still have it be realistic then it would be the perfect way to quell the pilot TK problems.

Agreed with Rhino.

The only level of communication required between the pilot and Co-pilot with the OP's suggestion is:

Pilot: "Now!"

By which time the co-pilo has fallen asleep due to the tremendous responsibility and effort required to push a button maybe once in a game.
