black hawk down

what i think what make a really cool crash when the bh has no live that it gets almost uncontrole able and smoke everywhere just like in the movie black hawk down

and that you can survive it when it crashes but it burns slowly


hope you guys understand what i am saying :lol:

though about it today.


you should be able to survive a crash but should be randomly injured (includeing death) and you should be able to stay in the vehicle.

yes that is what i mean that you can survive it but youre almost dead so you have to be lucky that there is a medic

and do the black hawks wreck stay if they stay

it would be really cool at the crash site that there is a cloud of smoke coming from it like the cars in karkand on the corner at the first flag

to have the chassie stay for the whole game but un use able(still with health but can only be taken away with a specific weapon).

Or maybe, an idea would be to seperate engine failure from total destruction. E.g. your engine stops functioning, but you manage to land relatively unharmed. Your board weapons (miniguns) would still be in working order, possibly. I'm not sure if this is even remotely possible modding wise, but I think it would be nice to have. (You'd have to be careful though, as an idle helicopter is a sitting duck for any rocket.)

Problem (I think) is that the miniguns work off the power of the helo. So if it goes down (which would mean the pilot would probably want to shut everything off to prevent fire) the minis might not work.

Hmm, yes, you may have a point there. Besides, if the engine is damaged (as in my scenario) that would mean no power anyway.... :cry: And I thought I had something good there, lol. :lol: Let's ask Eddie.

These are all great ideas. I think it would be great that the helo chasis would stay. I think itis much more realistic. I also think that people would value the heli much more if it doesn't spawn for a while. There would definantly be way less helo ramming. Helo ramming pisses me off a wicked lot. Can't stand when I'm trying to hover my helo for my troops to get on the ground and some loser crashes into us and gets 5 kills.

I know it would be a bit drastic but with the strength of planes in PR it might be best to see them seperated into different maps. Planes own the map enough as it is.

Anyway back on topic. Even if the minis don't work, crash landings are much better than exploding helos.

it can be done in bf2.

EOD and SH did it in 42.

when the helis lose all thier health (from small weapons) they start spinning out or control and sink into the ground. sometimes they explode on contact and kill everybody (usually if you hit a static object) but if you hit open ground and bail out, everyone can survive.

a system similar to this REALLY needs to be done in PR. It could make objective maps a blast.

like, get the vip across the map. oh no his chopper got shot down, send in a rescue squad. that would freakin rock.

Of course it can be done, you can make a tank fly straight into the air when damaged ;)

The problem is that its a very static way of doing it. If EoD is still using my implementation, the helo would always spin in the same direction at a certain amount of damage. Not too realistic. But it was a while since I played it (well, a long while). I believe there is a way to specifically blow the rear of a helo upon directed fire, another mod did this. Dont know what lag it would cause though, as it would technically be multiple vehicles.
