I forget which post I read it, but isn't Project Reality hypothetically taking place in 2013 or something like that. Please, DEVs, correct me if my facts aren't right.
So wouldn't the weapons currently in development be in the game, so the SAW should be the British Support kit?

Welcome to the forums.
But get used to the M249 SAW, because its Belgian half-brother, the FN Mimimi-Para, is now (and will be in-game, once the model is complete) the UK Forces' automatic rifle/fire-team light machinegun.
The M240 would not be fitting for the British, for reasons which I will explain. M240 is the US designation for its adopted variants of the FN MAG general purpose machinegun. The UK calls it the L7, and Canada calls it the C6.

I believe Heskey means in development for the game, not in reality. The UK has been phasing the L110A1 (Minimi Para) into its fire-teams since late 2001/early 2002.
Scarmoe, since the M240 has been suggested before, I am locking the thread. No hard feelings, though. Next time you have a suggestion, make sure to check the "already suggested" thread above and use the search function at the top right. Be warned, though, military designations (like M## or Mk-#) are usually too short to work the search engine.
