Welcome, mate.

For about the next two weeks, give or take, it's going to be rather hard to be a sniper. The new version of PR added weapon deviation, which means that you need to hold still for a second before you start shooting to be accurate, which is pretty realistic. However, the USMC sniper and marksmen weapons always have the deviation present due to some glitch or just bad code. A patch is coming out sometime around the end of january which will fix that and a few other things.

I'm not sure if other weapons are messed up or not, but I do know for fact that the USMC marksmen weapons are totally out of whack. There are still assault rifles that have a range of 300m and have scopes, so you should still have plenty of practice.

In the meantime, and you should probably have done this bug or not, play a few rounds, find a good squad and get the hang out the basics first before trying to the specialized roles. If you're having trouble finding a squad that has it together or that has a lot of teamwork going on, message me and I'll see if a few of my clan-mates will show you how it's done. I promise you'll love it after being part of a good squad.

Also, the reason folks around here don't like snipers too much is because PR requires teamwork to be great. A lot of times, a person will join the squad to get the sniper kit, and then run away and act like a lone wolf instead of following orders or helping anybody. Don't be one of these people. After all, a sniper that spots for you and works with your squad to take out high profile targets to protect his mates is a valuable and welcomed asset.

Guile suits don't render past 50m anyways, it doesn't matter unless someone is right next to you, all it does then is point you out anyways.

ALL sniper rifles/marksmen are fubar atm, just gone done testing the fix and everything should be good for the upcoming patch.

changing text and pretty colors is cool if you're 12, which if you are then fine, other than that, its annoying.

Well, welcome to the forums. Just an information: You could have a hard time being sniper and also spec ops, because many people use these kits as lone-wolfing and score-hunting kits or to get themselfs blown. Make sure you know how to use it and you can be an important asset for your team. If you dont know how to use it, your team may lose an important kit. Remember, as a sniper the K/D ratio is not what counts, and Special Operations should not try to blow moving tanks. Remain hidden and use your equipment, like they very very powerful SOFLAM - you can set laser marks and friendly laser guided missiles and bombs and even JDAM-Airstrikes are available on these targets. As a sniper, as already said, also remain hidden and only engage important targets, like officers, other snipers or anti tank soldiers or very easy targets. Dont give away your position, but i guess you know that.

I'm sure you know that stuff, just saying its important to play your role in PR, and you'll love it and people will love you.
