ops:I have been playing PR mod for a couple hours now and I cant seem to hit anything. I was looking for some tips. I was pretty confused at first but I was wondering if you have to compensate for bullet drop and things like this. please help a noob out. Im kind of ashamed about this post because im usualy a very capable marksman in tactical shooters, In ArmA combat operations I was getting confirmed kills over a mile away with the .50cal.please help me I want to enjoy this but so far Im just a horrible shot.
-thanks
P.S. Im in no way trying to bash this mod I know I just suck right now ops:
In the latest release a deviation system was brought in. This is dependent on movement. The added deviation you get will make your cone of fire larger than if you are stationary. You must be at rest for upto five seconds before it calms down enough to be accurate.
Typically the prepared defender now has the edge. Anyone running blindly at enemy or running round corners will have added deviation to their firing cone and a prepared defender will have a normal cone of fire.
This should lead to squads learning how to use fire and manouvre tactics, where half the squad is moving whilst the other half are stationary and firing and providing accurate/effective covering fire. Smoke nades are a good tool now to helping you cross terrain.
[R-MOD]Mongolian Dude: AH man, sarcasm is so hard to get across the web, even if we are both british [R-DEV]Jaymz: That has to be...the most epic response to a welcome thread I have ever seen. [R-CON]Mr.D ladies and gentlemen!
Wow thats fast response time. Thanks for the tips so far, Im gonn try to get some more practice. Its just so different than what im used to, I usualy play alot of Armed Assault and SWAt4. Hope I can get the hang of this.
also, thanks for coming in here to the forums and asking instead of asking in the game servers. while technically theres nothing wrong with asking on a server, youl see that many people are not willing to help because they are either too busy playing or dont want to take the time. make sure to read the manual thoroughly but dont be afraid to ask questions in the forum because i know on some things the manual isnt totally clear. and welcome to pr
if you find a target thats standing still and far away, pull out your binocs, line it up directly with their head, pull out your gun and shoot. perfect kill everytime.

Welcome
All sniper and marksman rifles are bugged right now (will be fixed in the upcomming patch).
Little tip for you: READ THE MANUAL
Project Reality 0.7 Manual wrote:Page 9,
Weapons take a longer time (about 1-2 second) to shot accurately after movement.
RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!!! Do not post stupid suggestions just because you had a bad round in PR
I read the manual and Im getting alot better with the rifles. I tryed the USMC marksman and that is by far my favorite so far. Im getting pretty good with the m14. I also would like to say the m14 looks and sounds like the real deal I shoot one in competitions around my area and its pretty close to my Springfield. Grate job on the mod though by far the best mod Ive ever played.
