ah ok. so are u gonna work on a troop carrier variant of the hmmwv? if you do can there be one to carry troops(hold max troops), and one with supplies in the back (and only hold 2 ppl), like wat i mean is make it actually have supplies in it like ammo boxes and crates guns etc.[R-CON]Cheeseman wrote:No doubt in that, but what I mean by "realistic" is not to imply that the USI model isn’t realistic in the specific category or type of Humvee model it’s suppose to represent. By realistic I mean being provided an option to manipulate an already existing model which is not an Up-armored variant could cause series of difficulties and constraints which would most likely lead to an unrealistic model as an outcome. Also I like to make my own models from scratch.![]()

Sure post them up, since I'm having a hard time keeping up with the constantly chaning HMMWV.[R-DEV]Eddie Baker wrote:Looking good, Cheeseman! The newest Gunner Protection Kit turrets are sloped inward, though. I can provide you with more references, if you like. I still haven't been able to find one with an inside view, unfortunately.

PS. If this is the one your talking about then great I'll save a lot of Tris/Poly's on the model.

Nope, that's not the one. From my research, it looks like the Army and Marines are going with two different turret types, and Armor Holdings (the contractor that produces the UAH), is offering yet another type. Oy, everybody's gotta be different.'[R-CON wrote:Cheeseman;581405']Sure post them up, since I'm having a hard time keeping up with the constantly chaning HMMWV.

Sorry it's taking me so long to get you those pics, school just started for me and I've been out of the routine for over a year.

The photo you have there is of the Armor Holdings Improved GPK. Since it will be "stock" or "OEM" for the newest HMMWVs, go ahead and model it. I'll see if I can find more references.[R-CON]Cheeseman wrote:Ow No, how many shields do I need to model before I'm up to date? Why can't they just keep with one type of shield and let me be?![]()

If you're looking to reduce Tri's the counter-measures/smoke launchers can be completely removed... the APC doesn't even have them so why would a light infantry vehicle need them?
The Hatch rear itches me something fierce... It's too bland. Might add a spare back there or summat. Also the Gunner's nest doesn't need *that* much detail. If you did it correctly you can salvage the Tri's about 500-800 with toning back the detail on the nest and removing the smoke launchers.
For the person that recommended the Crow -- the CROW doesn't work at all. I can shoot you 1,000,000,000,000 times in the face at point blank on my screen, the damn thing will still shoot straight down or straight up. I'd really like to see a M249 Belt Fed or even a M240, The 50 Cal is just too gawdy.
I can try my hand at texture mapping if you need the help.
-- EDIT --

^^ Mounted M240

^^ Rear-End Details

^^ Gunners Nest

.Intense those images of HMMWV’s are the old versions of the M1114, in fact the first image is the oldest one of them all. The HMMWV was designed for personnel and light cargo transport and wasn’t originally planed or equipped to serve in such hostile environments seen in Iraq and Afghanistan. For this reason throughout the years it has gone through various changes and improvements to better suit the missions it wasn’t originally set to engage in. The most resent versions of the HMMWV's are better armored and include smoke grenades much like tanks and FAV/APC’s.

besides smoke will be more useful on this than on a APC when it is a urban environment.

I meant to show the M240 Mounted MG not the hummer. I figured I'd throw it in there to add more flavor other than a TOW or 50 cal.[R-CON]Cheeseman wrote:.Intense those images of HMMWV’s are the old versions of the M1114, in fact the first image is the oldest one of them all.
