well... yes and no

m&k give you great control when fling at low speeds, thus giving you the advantage in transport/scout helicopters

i find joystick better in attack choppers - flying over 800su (speed units) isn't that easy and precise with m&k. high speed flying is very similar to fixed-wing flight and joysticks beat the hell out of mouse&keyboard combo

Everyone can fly, it's just takes longer for some to pick up.
If you struggle really badly in PR, try playing BF:V and learning the basic there (Much easier to fly) than come back to PR and perfect it!

Why? I think both are good, even joysticks have an advantage in my opinion. But it depends on what you are best on.

I prefer using mouse for flying helis. Don't see how it should be a problem in high speed flight. The only time I think a stick can be to an advantage is in a heli-duel with a lot of maxed out turns.

I did a lot of flying in BF1942 - there most of the good pilots used a joystick, but the best one didn't (no, it wasn't me...). The same thing should apply - more or less - to PR. It's probably easier for most to master flying (jets) with a stick, but it should be possible to reach the same level of skill with a mouse, it might just take longer (and put a hell of a lot more strain on your hands and wrists).

When I train flying both chopper and jets I am keyboard only since I dont wanna waste money on a joystick just for pr because its only two maps you can fly jets on. And I cant get the hang on it with mouse since you cant touch you mouse withouth screwing up the chopper/jet.

The thing I've learned in my brief time playing PR (installed it last night) is that with Helos the advantages of the mouse versus the joystick seem to exist in different qualities.

The mouse seems to have the ability to feather things nicely. The disadvantage is that in harder turns I practically run my mouse off the table trying to keep from flipping which would be something that wouldn't plague a joystick. Also one key characteristic seems to be that its VERY hard to recover from an out of control spin or something of the similar with a mouse. Joysticks I think would make some of the sharp maneuvers easier to do and much faster.

I haven't got a joystick but I"m going to get one (for something other than PR). Interestingly enough at first I hated the Huey but now its my favourite. Its fast as hell and can take a hard landing. For some reason I find the little bird is like a brick in turning compared to the others, like its top heavy. I use rudder in all situations with it where in other choppers you need to turn cause for them the rudder isn't working. Course its not rudder but I don't konw what you call the specific Z force.

And yes so far I've mostly done offline Helo flying. Its addictive!

Try increasing your mouse sensitivity in game - my settings were 10-2-2 until the release of 0.75 where i had to lower them a bit to 7/8-2-2

Good advice. At the moment my settings are 7.5 and 3 pitch 4 yaw. I've been playing with them quite a bit. These are with the Huey of course. I haven't gotten as comfortable with the other ones yet.

I find that turning with either the BH or LB after using the Huey its like... very different. I love the low attack of the Huey, how it can come in shallow and hit the dirt hard with a little flare of the tail. The Blackhawk seems to be easier to bring down from a higher angle but I struggle getting it to not give me damage when landing a lot.

The little bird I got down mostly but I seem to keep flipping it on landings. :P
