Why does no-one play bi ming?
Just wondering.., first time today ( since the .7 update ) ive see a server running bi ming (TG) i jumped on only for the round to end 2 mins later. Why does no-one else have this map in rotation?.
Ive said it before ,i'll say it again.., I honestly believe this is THE most immersive map in PR EVER, yet everyone seems to hate it and it never appears to be in anyones map rotation.
WHY WHY WHY?????!!!!

everyone seems to think night maps are all "cool" on paper, but when ppl play them they dont realize that they are that much more harder than normal day maps, and cos they find it soo hard to get to grips with the surrounding, they dont like it..
personally i really like the map but its not common when you find it running on a server.

yeh very true i suppose.., its a damn shame really though, i wish ppl would taake the time out to really play this map as its a big adrenalin rush from start to finish. No i dont mean runnning round capping flags fast but a long sneaky stealthy tactic type of game.
I'll admit when things go wrong they go wrong very quickly on this map but its a storm to play when youve got a few clanmates on TS/voip in the sneaky mood.
Just to add i gotta congratulate who ever had a hand in making this map but whenever ive found it in rotation ppl just seem to leave or constantly whine
it doesnt do the devs justice at all. I wish more ppl would give it more of a chance and alter their playstyle they have on daymaps, maybe thats a bit too much to ask for pub play

Ive found that squad cohesion and communication is the key to this map.., only fire when fired upon and only in extreme situations.., hell ive gone through 3/4 of the round once not even fireing my weapon! but ended up in the squad thats scored the most at the end of the round.SuperTimo wrote:i love the map but even with all settings on low it lags like a Beach for me, when ive had no lagg its been awesome
being a marksman in one of the guard towers was great fun
Ive got a mid range rig and it doesnt lag at all for me.
I love the fact that it almost forces you to use VOIP or TS as one ingame command can get your whole squad slaughtered in a few seconds.

Well the map gives me some lag (1 gig RAM and too much of a cheap *** to get more.
) and even if it didnt I wouldnt like to play becuase nobody knows a thing about proper low light fighting. I would be willing to teach the basics to people ingame but hardly anyone is patient enough to learn. Only one time did I have a squad who was patient enough for it and after 15 minutes of techniques and drills we preceded to absolutely obliterate everything that round.
Once people learn how to play it I would have to say that its the most realistic experience you can get in a PR. Its a well designed map with the brilliant true to life terrain and realistic CP placement (unlike Qwai) that actually dominate an area instead of a single location. But right now everyone is just running around in human waves through the dark like they are lost. Its sad to watch and I just end up leaving. Thats why I dont play Bi Ming.

I just hope this map doesnt get dropped from future releases because of its lack of popularity
that would be a great shame.

Yeah team cohesion usually flies right out the window on this map, people have a hard time not seeing much and having to pause a lot more as well as thinking before doing anything. Oh and half of the team asking which key to use for the nightvision doesn't help either
DrRank had a great idea making this map but it suffers from the fact that its the only one so people keep getting supprised by its unique play and then Boom its the end of the round. So people usually are just left with a sense of frustration.
I'm pretty sure that if 1-2 other maps like it were in rotation enough people would have the hang of it to sustain the umbers each time.
At least it'll be an interesting map to play in the PR Tourney

I like Bi ming,1st time i played it i was chinese hidden behind a tree making a 28-0 and stealing 2 marksman kits...
i had to w8 for a teammate to come take the 2nd as i was swapping between them for at least 5 mins...icult to be spoted
I really love the fact that when you hide its very difficult to be spoted

I love Bi Ming. It's one of the best maps in pr.

Easily one of the best maps in PR, needs the funky music and shotguns though.
Its a map with many more tense moments and point blank fire fights than any other. Its one of the few maps that actually require you to be careful with sound disicpline as it can easily give your position away and get you, and your squad, wasted.
More servers need to play it. Many more servers.

I enjoy this map alot. But it seems after I play a long full round of Bi Mind.. for some reason I start getting a headache. Dunno if it's the 24 inch screen or it's just me. I haven't played it often enough to know if the headaches and map are related. But I agree, Bi Ming is definitely underplayed and underrated.
