support guns spread

Post by RHYS4190 »

Iv founld support gun spead is to big to be effective at long range. I find this anoying because most of the game is long range fighting.
but im just pointing this out id like it if i sor support being used more but it no big deal i still have the 50cal.

If you're trying to kill with it, you're doing it wrong.

The support gun is used to suppress the enemy and not to kill them... thats the task of the others.

suppression actually only works if the enemy is afraid of getting hit. If they know that they are going to be ok if they put their head up then they will do that and shoot at you.

The vision blur thing is not always enough to prevent them from shooting, so the support weapon needs to be able to kill.

That being said I have had no trouble killing people with the support weapons.

The AUTOMATIC RIFLEMAN's role is to provide a massive amount of ammunition during moves from cover to cover. The tertiary role of a AUTOMATIC RIFLEMAN is to provide ammunition to his squad mates. He's the "8-Ball" of his squad...

The gun is actually quite accurate even at medium range. If any of you served in any armed service, you know that the true role of Automatic Rifleman is putting as much ammunition towards the enemy while your squad is exposed as well as dispatching potentially hostile armed mobs.

YOURE WRONG ALL hahaha

On middle and short range you can pull the trigger down as long as you can, BUT at long distance you need to fire bursts. Then you will hit mate!! Try it out

But the supression guys got right too!! 50% ;)

Its all a matter of balance. If the grouping were too tight it wouldn't be an effective suppression weapon, if its too wide it looses all killing ability. The perfect set up is probably yet to be found, so please do remember this is an incomplete version of PR.

Though personally I find its pretty good for both as it is now.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Yeah, by putting enough lead downrange you can make some pretty long-range kills.
Just lie down and take your time to let it settle in :p

Also, there aren't many things more fun than seeing a guy run across an open space a couple of hundred meters away while you're lying on a rooftop, and sending a couple of bursts his way, only to finally nail him with dust kicking up all around him *evil grin*

I actually find the M249 is great for long range kills. Short bursts is where it works best.

I remember I opened up from a treeline as a squad crossed a rice-paddy about 100-150m away, and it worked awesome. You may shoot 30 or more rounds to get one kill, but that is way lower than what real life is.

On Bi Ming I was in a tower and an enemy squad was just behind a hill. I open up from my position with the SAW and lay fire down all along the hill side. I was basically doing some suppressive fire, so we could get into a defensive position and send 2 guys to investigate. I emptied an entire drum into that hill and got 2 kills out of the 6 man squad. From about med range I thought it was pretty good.

Wow, its hilarious to see people complain about the SAW. Its the best weapon in-game right now imo. I get kills left and right with that thing at damn near ANY range. The PKM is just silly at range...you can light up whole squads suppressing and killing them oh so easily.

Let me give you a visual aid just to say, your not doing it right if you are complaining about the SAW. Burst at range...:/

This screenie was from about 15 minutes into the game at our first CP after I had died for the second time. All SAW action and btw, I'm really not very good at the game...the SAW is the new noob weapon. Point and click and people die.

That because viper you where fighting rebels, it would have been different story if you where fighting a diffract team at long range with a saw.

Just because you do good with a saw against rebels does not make it good rebels are easy to kill.

But you try taking out American’s or Chinese or brit with a saw and you will see what im trying to say.

Sure it good at medium range and short, but at long range the spread ruins the accuracy and grouping of the support gun.

Kit will be better at suppressing the enemy if it spread is reduced and it will be used more for it intended purpose.

The automatic riflemen kits are all very fantastic. Knowing when to burst and when to rock and roll is what makes an effective auto rifleman. I agree with VipersGhost that the SAW is the noob gun of PR, it's very simple to use at almost any range, although closer is always better (and this doesn't only apply to the MGs). It is already a very useful suppressing weapon, just know how to use it. People don't like hot lead in the face. It is also accurate enough to engage point targets. I was taking out plenty of MEC rifleman at ranges between 2 and 300 meters on EJOD today.

The problem is not the weapon.
