medic questions

Post by ConscriptVirus »

sry if this has been posted before, but

does the medic bag not heal someone up to full health? sometimes i feel like after i revive someone, using the medic bag to heal them seems to take a short time

or sometimes when im coughing/blurry vision i click down on the medic bag and i hear the healing sound, but hten it stops after like 3 seconds and im still in blurry vision/bleeding but i can still use field dressings to heal myself.

and do u heal friendly soldiers just for being in the same vehicle or next to the vehicle ur in? (like in vanilla BF2

Medic bag will heal somebody to full health.

Medic bag will not heal YOU if you're the medic.

Yes, if you're all in the same vehicle you will heal your pals.

Actually it will heal you as a medic as well. I never had any problems with it though, so I can't be of much help.

Correct
Medic bag will not heal YOU if you're the medic.
Uncorrect, You can heal yourself by standing up and looking down at your feet and holding the left mouse button, Sometimes the healing sound and healing icon will disapear before you are at 100% its a bit of a guessing game sometimes.
Yes, if you're all in the same vehicle you will heal your pals.
partly correct, You wont heal anyone if you sitt in .50 cal in the vodnik and hmmwv, If you sit in a pasanger seat then you will heal everyone except the .50 cal gunner. this might also apply to the driver seat, though im not a 100% sure on that one.

That one is news to me. (i always look down).

also being a medic is also kinda like being a squadleader, its best if use a mic to direct your squadmates to a safe location for healing.
also tell them to look away form you. Because if they are looking at you your both gona get shot, its your job to heal and thier job to bodyguard while your doing it.

never walk behind your squad leader in an open field.

Point 1 is correct
Point 2 is not correct, Simple Crouch and look straight down to heal yourself.
Point 3 is correct.

Roger that :D

Simple Crouch and look straight down to heal yourself.
[/quote]

Crouching is very 50/50 for healing: standing up or lying down are always best.

Try never to use field dressings on yourself unless absolutely necessary: they're slow and weak in comparison with your medic bag.

Throwing a field dressing at a casualty has a number of positive effects:
  1. It can shift a casualty into a recoverable position, say on a slope.
  2. It can give a recovered casualty an extra boost of health which will reduce the amount of time you have to med them (allowing you to move on to other casualties more quickly).
  3. You may have inadvertently taken a hit so the health boost will go to you while you are reviving/medding the casualty.

Thats all dependant if you see the pulsing heart icon above his corpse. If he calls for a medic then he's only critically wounded. If you don't see one, Its likely that he was killed outright and you can't revive dead team-mates.

As a rule of thumb I tend to leave guys with no kit as more often than not they're goners.

If it's one of my squad and they communicate that they're still alive then I usually throw a dressing just in case they're glitched in the landscape. 1 zap and if there's no recovery then that's all folks: off I go.

What I tend to do is go up to the body and see if he is transparent. If he is, then he is a goner, but if he isn't, you can revive him.

I find it medic kit is almost always useless a vehicle being used with it especially if it has a 50cal on it.

But problem is that most people don't know this tatic and think that when the vehicle is not being used it alright to take it :( , leaving a medic exposed in a world full of scopes and rifles.

It possible to use medic with out vechiles and have it work but the revive teams on the server i use make it impossible to do safely. no squad could secure the area with in 30 60 seconds and then revive the player with out the help of a vehicle.

You could do it in vBF2 but PR is a totaly different ball game,

But you can't have the revive timer longer with out it becoming anoying, unless you make it so you can chouse to cut the timer back to normal if you don't want a revive.

I read some where that if you cant revive someone that was not blown up or shot in the head.
(ie: they died of bleeading out or torsos hots)

But they wont be revived no matter how many times you hit them with a defibrillator. They are most likely buged or stuck, BUT you can un stick them by throwing a dressing on them.
I tested it and it dose work about 80% of the time, try it.
