Removing Quartermaster chit-chat
I was wondering whether there was a way of removing the Quartermaster chat at the top of the screen as I am a fan of not having unimportant text on my screen. I don't need to know what my team-mates are requesting, and I don't really need to know whether I have been successful getting kit or not, as I can look down to my feet to see that.
Are there any console commands that could do this?
Thanks,
Seirrah

Team chat is useful sometimes, but 90% of the time is just anoying. Plus, if you take a look at screenshots/wallpapers, all made without any radio chat, they look so much more real.
Bottom line, text is in the way. I'm not saying it should be completely removed, but if there would be an option to turn it off, I believe most of the players would do so.
Suggestion: How about moving text to the bottom of the screen?

What if you had the chat messages sent privately to the player when he requested a kit only? For example I will only read the **QM** text when I request a kit? Maybe sent the text to the squad chat? That would limit the information to squads which would definatly cut it down from what it is now.
I'm not familiar with the coding aspects/capabilities - just throwing some ideas out there.

Deepsix - if we could send individual messages to players like that, it would already be in place.... the way its done right now, is the only way the BF2 engine would allow it....
Now thats not to say that the devs arent trying new ways to try to remove the text, cause as you can see by our current HUD, we really dont like all that **** on our screen. No promises but its being looked into...

Fuzz - in the interim, perhaps removing some of the text is an option?
Abbreviate
"You need 2+ players in your squad before I can issue you a SNIPER kit, Sniperboy123"
to
"+1 player in the squad needed for that kit, Sniperboy123", for example.
"Kit Issued, Frankie" for successfully receiving a kit.
"No more Kits, Player1 " for maxed out kits like AT etc.
Is that possible? TBH the spam doesn't bother me except when there's a ton of people requesting all at once - since 0.7 there's been far less, as people are taking longer to die.

I guess it would surely be possible to remove all QM messages if desired as it was added to PR. The problem is that some people might want/need the messages. As fuzzhead said, the best was would be individual messages which it seems isn't possible.
That being said I think that the QM messages could be easily reduced, as they are a bit chatty. "**QM** Seirrah - req. approved" ..not loads of text and chat about a rice wine etc.
