You know , IMO the only real winners of this "competition" were the players.
We get to reap the rewards of the efforts of all the developers of the various mods who are putting endless hours of work into developing these mods for the sheer pleasure and satisfaction of seeing their labor of love enjoyed by others.
As a community (and in this case I belong to both..PRM and Insurgency) we should be gracious and congratulate the winner.
Since the tone of Eggmans thread on the Insurgency forum has calmed down (he was congratulatory BTW , it was a few gimps in here that upset Insurgency developers) there are already a few Insurgency players saying they are going to give PRM a whirl (or get back into it).
We should reciprocate and give their mod a fair go.
True, PRM it isn't but Insurgency has taken the best of DoD and CS and melded it into on fun game.
Certainly worth the download because it is fun to play.

Is that "gimp" statement directed at me?BeerHunter wrote: Since the tone of Eggmans thread on the Insurgency forum has calmed down (he was congratulatory BTW , it was a few gimps in here that upset Insurgency developers) there are already a few Insurgency players saying they are going to give PRM a whirl (or get back into it).

I did give their mod a go... On 4 or 5 different occasions, and it still comes up short for what I'm looking for. I've invested several hours trying to get those mods to grow and me, and it just wasn't happening. I only have a limited amount of time that I can play weekly, so I'm not gonna waste more, and more time on games or mods that fall short in my eyes. No disrespect intended to anyone, but INS and FH2 fall short of the mark in my opinion. But opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one
Furthermore the post I made on this subject was followed up by another post that said, "I WAS KIDDING"! Dam, I guess you can't kid around with some people. If that makes me a "gimp" then so be it.
Source is a better engine with better tools and a hell of a lot better support than the BF2 engine, so that just means that PR DEVs are working even harder and smarter. If that upsets some "thin skinned" individuals, then I'm sorry that's just how it is.
If PR had taken first place instead of INS, then there would be lots of haters over there talking smack. And they may or may not be kidding when they do it.
They just won Mod Of The Year for pete sake! What the hell... do they have to be "upset" about!!! They fucking won already! You make it sound like they are getting cheated by us in some way because someone said something negative about a stupid video game, and hurt there precious little feelings. It's a game about MEN fighting a WAR... You know... It's man business. Man up!!!
Again, no disrespect intended!

I played Ins when it was first released. I didn't like it very much, but found it better than PR when I was really drunk, since it's less about overall strategy and more about small-scale CS-style FPS tactics. But I always found the weapon recoil way too high, and overall didn't enjoy my experience much.
When I saw that they took numero uno, I gave it another shot last night. I had a good bit of fun. They seem to have lowerd the recoil a lot. I played two games with an overall KDR of about 3:1, so it was a pretty good experience. I still won't play it regularly, since I don't even have enough time to play as much PR and ArmA as I'd like. But they've still done a very nice job, and fixed a lot of the little gripes I had when it first came out.

CoD4 Multiplayer is a nightmare, the "perks" are extremely annoying too.Clypp wrote:or at least better than CoD4 multiplayer.
