prmm popularity

Post by Stormrider27 »

I'm concerned that some people who switch from playing vanila BF2 to prmm will leave in a short time saying prmm " is to hard" or tough " thus negatively impacting its popularity. The problem of course being with them not prmm , in that they don't understand that lonewolves and Rambos won't survive long on the prmm battlefield. So they unfairly blame the mod and leave , missing the greater concept that apart from the squad they can do little or nothing.I want to see prmm become massively populare and I hope time proves me wrong. Thoughs?

P.S. For new prmm players if your a wolf join a wolf pac.

There is one answer there??

We all need to "show" these new guys how it is played - and encourage them so they dont leave, to build up the player base !

rodger that !! [R-DEV]UK_Force

And while I'm at it , oh to find a squad that once formed stays close together , not spreadout to all corners of the map . Then it can be said " To the squad that fights as one man comes victory " or something to that effect.

Yes we need to encourage players to play it properly, to get the most out of it. This is crucial, if this is to succeed. (It Will)

Theres a been a late surge of interest in this mod, and its a mixed blessing. My fear is that my squad will split into two tiers. Ever since BF2 Vanilla came out, teamwork has gone down the pan. Its all about stats and killing people at all costs. Some people are so stuck into that mindset, that they can't change.

A tactical guide book, on here, an exclusive forum thing, would be best. The guys that register on these forums are obviously more interested in its development and potential, than the folks who go (new sounds, no arty, better hit detection) and thats about it for them.

I agree with you. This mod is very tough. I try and work in squads all the time, I hate going lone wolf, but I still have a rough time staying alive. I don't think this is going to be too much of a problem though. People who jump into a reality mod should know what they are getting into.

I have tryed some really teamwork on some servers were we comunnicate with VOIP and cover each other when we were crossing a street, if everyone played like that we would get really big comunnity, i think so

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people that either don't have mics or don't have VoIP properly set up. Makes teamwork very difficult.

well to be honest, the voip support on BF2 is awful quality. My teamspeak is crystal clear, yet when using B Comms, it just sounds like its on a really bad codec.

Well, when it comes to squads and stuff like that, im usually in one, sometimes im not, mainly because some squads still have that "head on attack" attitude from normal BF2, and when the first strike fails they seem to think a second attack will fair differently, this is mainly why im probably not in any one squad for too long as when i go off on my own, or create another smaller squad i always let the squad i was do their same on thing, while i go around and flank the enemy, there have been plenty of times were i have caught an entire squad off guard and procede to mow them down with no mercy :p

Now, your probably gonna ask "why dont you tell you SL to try a different approach?" well, i dont usually take the time to type that out, or tell where i think we should go, i rather take the advantage of having the enemy think we are gonna attack from the same place again again and i just go and flank them.

I have a mic, and TS, but i hate using that with a whole bunch of other people, mainly becuase they are gonna spam the comms with unnecessary chat, mainly with spouts of anger when they die or gloating, i dont need to know that really, plus if its alot of people on TS, its just many voices in my head, which is why i didnt do the TS on the saturday battle thing.

I'm pretty new to PRMM, and it took me about 5 minutes playing PRMM to figure out that staying with a squad is vital to surviving. And no, I don't think its too tough, I got used to it and started getting positive K-D ratios about 30 minutes into playing a game. I don't think people are turned off by it, its a reality mod, and it adds some fun new aspects that vanilla BF2 lacks. The only reason I don't play it all the time is to me, vanilla BF2 is still fun, and most of the time, not enough people are playing PRMM to have a really good game.
