Helmand/Op Pheonix - Question for the Devs

I'm more than a little disappointed that these maps were not included in the latest release as I loved them, especially Helmand. Ok they needed a bit of work to get the balance right etc but I miss them. Is there any plans to bring them back in a later version of PR?

tbh i thoughgt helmand province was a bad map. the colours were all wrong , i just didn't get the feeling of afghanistan from. i hope they will bring it back but better.

i loved helmand. they prob took it out cuz of the whole insurgency gameplay issue. it was a nice small map so it ran really well on my computer.

Don't forget PR is set a few years in the future, so maybe the germans do have to fight then... Ah the G36 will pwn...

helmand really needs a apache and a10 really. not those specific planes but really needs air support and jdam.

Helmand was just pure fun, I don't care what they do to it, but PR definitely needs that close quarter infantry combat back in it somewhere.

i think we need helmand 2, same gameplay as v1 but simply bigger (2-4 times as big)

helmand would only get an a-10/apache if they up the size of it alooooootttt.


and then they would have to add a whole lot more RPG's.


PR is severly lacking in the RPG department for insurgents.

I think Al Basrah has quite enough RPGs, but I agree - a big map with some real anti-air uses for RPGs would be nice. I agree, helmand is WAYYYY too small for any kind of aircraft. But I'm assuming sangin will have some?

Helmand when it had 32 players was incredible at times - the problem was idiotoc server admins rotating it with 64 players. The look and feel of the map was great - the pseudo trench warfare, the open fields and treelines, the destructable buildings ...
Scaled up with appropriate viewdistance would be great

I miss helmand and Phoenix too :(


Though they did need tweaking...

We have Muttrah V2 How about Helmand and Phoenix V2? :P

I miss it but looking forward to what's on the next page, seems like maps are the current priority right now
