i think this goes out to the public relation division of PR:
yesterday on our server, a newbie asked why his chopper flipped over, he said he did anything like the manual (yes, seemed he read it).
after a few words spoken he stated then the following comment which is the reason for this thread:
"yeah, the cool vehicles are the reason why i downloaded the mod"
ok, i can just guess i am not the only one whos heart is bleeding a bit when reading this.
what do the devs or the pubs think bout this?
which are the groups the community os looking for?
let them come looking for vehicles and finding teamwork or lets call in from the start teamplay orientated gamers?
PR - teamwork or vehicles

I dont see the problem, everyone likes vehicles, if we stripped them from this mod, it would be nothing like as good as it is!
alot of vehicles require teamwork, he didnt say he didn't want to play as a team did he?
A chopper pilot can play as a team, giving vital transport to troops on the ground, a tank reqires 2 players to use it, unless you want to get raped up the *** with 1 man tanking and theres many other exsamples.

from your first post it looks like you are saying this is a thing a player shouldn't be saying, what it sounds like anyways, where there is no problem with any one saying that from what I can see.. otherwise I see no point in this topic as its just missleading to what your trying to say and from what i can see, offers nothing...

i stated i dont like when players saying that comment. simply cause its understandable in 2. ways, the 2.; worse way is meaning loving the vehics only. it was not to flame towards this guy, more i was further looking for expierence/opinions of other forumusers or statements when thinking back why they joined the mod. this part indeed offers no content as i used questions and left it free to discuss. didnt saw that should be wrong.
if i would be new to the forum and would read opinions like "i use vehicles all the time" , it would probably affect me to copy this. im not judging this. otherwise comments like "i rather like using combined infantry/vehicle tactics and let the tanks to others" could set a focus for me on the teamplay component. a content of a forumthread belongs to the users posting in it, so it can reflect the community.
that or something like that been my thoughts from a neutral position but didnt wanted to explain all and do such a long thread.

I do see your point...
Sometimes you'll get the player who no matter what you ask they know better and so decide to spawn back at base to get an APC or something similar because they like the new toys and "that's why they got this mod".
That's fine as long as it's your SLs intention if it isn't then you just end up as a spoon driving an APC with a gun delay whilest the infatry are trying to sneak around.
Don't get me wrong, you can make the best of the situation by telling him to provide cover from range with the APC.
The main problem I see is infatry not working with the vehicles. Newbies who like the shiney new metal toys are very enthusiastic and that enthusiasm can be put to good use with communication, coordination and teamwork (and always have a gunner) but without any of that Bob is just gonna go on an offroading journey with his tank.
