Its not just maps if it has new factions and maybe even new objectives - its a mod of the mod, and may, if good, be part of a PR release - at least thats the idea i think.

But i still think that it would probably not often played and many players would hate it since everyone hates everything that has to do with special operations it seems :P

The couple times Ive used the spec-ops kit (on Basrah and Qwia) Ive found it to be very useful. The aim point on it (for me) makes it very accurate, its very dependable in close quarters, and it I find that it hits pretty hard. Now Ive never been flamed for using this kit, maybe Im just lucky that way, but if you use the kit correctly it can be a very useful kit to have in the squad/team.

My favourite variant of the spec ops kit is the chinese one. that QBZ (I think that is what it's called) is so damn accurate! The iron sights are really effective.

I have now made a video, it has been published on the forums for a few days now...
lets just see the effectivness of spec ops kit to clarify shall we :D

Please excuse comments at begining, they do die down later on.

The idea with the new Spec Ops class is to be based around HALO jumps essentially. A SF squad loads up in a BH and flies at a high altitude to the enemy position or base and the SF soldiers jump out and parachute into cover. They then move in assessing the situation and choosing their primary and secondary objectives. The goal is to NOT engage but to complete the objective. They then push in and blow everything to pieces.

From what I read, you seemed to be trying to move in on foot. This is kind of hard to do especially without any assistance. Once they parachutes give the HALO a try. It should be much more do-able.

No matter if it is supposed to be used for that, its just damn funny xD Good job, l loved the police-littlebird xD Poor commander xD

Okay, BTT, with the new equipment i think the problem with a bad Special Forces kit is solved pretty much.

For the record, I used the SOF kit on Qwai today in a relatively front-line role, and I was quite satisfied. Not used to using the M4, but I racked up about 450 points with it without dying, in about 20 minutes. Was able to destroy and enemy firebase and AAA, and kill several infantry using only M4 and flashbangs. So the new kit changes will change the dynamics quite a bit, focusing the kit more towards sneakiness behind enemy lines, but I don't think that in its current state it is that bad.
