add deviation on coax mgs

Post by SethLive! »

can the devs add a bit of deviation on the coax guns? they are only 7.62 nato and should not be quite that accurate at 800 meters. i can understand .50s being that accurate but the 7.62?

The gun currently shoots 3 MOA groups (3 MOA deviation = 0.025 game deviation(BF2 degrees) x 2 (BF2 degrees -> degrees conversion factor) x 60 (degrees -> MOA conversion factor)). IIRC, the M16A4's shoot <3 MOA groups when clamped. A coaxial machine gun would have a similar accuracy when it is attached to the turret of a extremely heavy vehicle.

Also, in RL tank gunners just push a button to las their targets and the on-board computer does all the math required to instantaneously re-zero the coax.

more so, seeing as the gunner can track a moving target and hit with 99% probabilities

The lazor in real life helps a lot, its like playing a video game. But if that's true, then what is this?

I guess if it is realisitc leave it in, it just seems like people get zapped by the coax MGs from very long range thanks to the zoom and the low deviation.

What about adding deviation for pintle mounted MGs on Jeeps/Tanks/etc?

Methinks that's the plan IRL :-D . Things won't seem so bad if the accuracies of handheld weapons are improved though.

It's using a 60 ton Ransom rest. I'd say it'd be pretty damn accurate.
