[Vehicle] MK-48-17 DCRBU

Post by motherdear »

i was wondering if there would be any interest in adding this vericle to the USMC and possibly other US forces as a new commander truck.

Image

if i understand the USMC website and links correctly this would be the vericle of choice for building and big quantities of troop movements.

it's a very complex vericle but i have collected about 50 pictures including interior, undercarriage, side, front, back, and overview pictures, and if the devs give the green light would somebody be interested in taking on the challenge, i could do a try too but my skills are limited.

I realise that it's not a high priority, but the current truck is not really used in the USMC anymore, and since realisme is important and 1.0 is getting close this vericle might make a difference (cosmetically if nothing else) it would also be good to have standing around the airports and similar since it's different modifications transport fuel and other utilities to jets and ground vericles.

Is there a joint in that vehicle? If so that's impossible to implement. Modeling that just as a static would be nice, but a lot of work for very minimal gain.

You can make a project of it for yourself though. :)

there is a joint in the vericle, so i guess that could be a problem, and the other problem is that i could do it myself but i only got 2gb left on my harddisk and it's a laptop so it can't be upgraded. also i do not have 3dsmax installed at the moment and as said my experience is limited.

so i guess it's not really worth it to try, except to get experience.

but at least i suggested it.

Can't do articulated vehicles in BF2 unfortunately.

seems like a cool vericle and it could really serve as a lot of roles since the models back end can just be redone a bit and it would fit another role and it would distinguise the US even more, but since it's a articulate vericle there is no idea in processeding.

but if i get some room on my laptop i might decide to model it and post it on the forums, just for the training and practice, it's just sad it's not the 2142 engine and we could have articulate vericles.

Looks quite abit like a HEMTT, which is a non articulating cargo vehicle.

it is a HEMTT actually, but i assume that since the add ons like the trailer here are added like on a truck that it would be a articulating vericle.

sounds great, i will do a try on the model something soon then, so it can both be used as a static or a vericle if needed (depending on version, tankers for airfields etc.)
