but only wrong...in regard to my physics explanation.
I was trying to use basic math to describe the effect of the shot fired.
My numbers were correct...and who ever mentioned the "vacuum" was correct...I kept mentioning gravity's consistancy...but I was actually leaving gravity out of the equation!

That is why I work in Television and Video Production!

Although I am wrong in my physics explanation, it is possible with todays higher powered rifles, loads, and rounds to obtain shots with flatter tragectories(less arc)to strike targets before the "bullet drop".

This, you CAN prove with your magic or your "physics"....you friggin wizards!

i think that the so called network issue is becuase there is a diffrent animation for 1p and 3p, so the guy with the 1p animation sees the bullet go and hit the target. the other guy sees it come out of the gun, it is zeroed like it should be but the gun is pointing in a slightly diffrent direction. need to test this some how.

Apparently the Abrams tank suffers a similar problem with it's main cannon. What is a hit appears not to be from the driver's perspective. I suspect it is an inherent problem with "multifirecomp" weapons.

The problem with Abrams is that the Hud_Spring object has
regulatePitch = -0.08/0.55, and the Barrel_Base has
regulatePitch = -0.08/1
So, Barrel won't math gunner's camera after a while of driving. 1 value needs to be fixed.

so it makes it come out of the center of your screen, no matter where the model barrel is pointing.

Yes, it makes it come out of your screen, and that's how you see it. But everyone esle see it coming out of the barrel and going in different direction. That's why camera's rotation and barrel's rotation should match.

Interesting. Just a question for my own mind:

If their numbers dont match and you start rotating the turret around and around in the same direction, does the alignment get even more off for people watching you? As in your rotation will eventually overtake what everyone else sees and you could possibly be looking forward while everyone thinks you are looking behind you?

This would rarely happen as most times you go back to center front the same way you spun around, or you dont just sit and spin in a circle 50 times...

just wondering simply curiosity

there is nothing in the code to make the projectile come out of the barrel, it does not matter if you are the guy firing the gun or the guy standing 100m away, the barrel right now is just a model nothing more.

+1, that's absolutely correct, good example is comparing 5.56 and 7.62x39 side by side; 5.56 will drop 2 inches at 100m, while 7.62x39 will drop 3.85 inches.

could the fact that the 5.56x45mm goes 140m/sec faster hav anything to do with the bullet drop...
