Waste of players on maps with tons of transports.

I'm already fed up, when there's five squads that want to fly the 3 Blackhawks on that map and some players even have the idea of having their chopper a "gunship" so they fly around shooting with miniguns, like it's not already annoying enough when one-time passengers do that.

Then you ask 'anyone want to be my APC gunner' and everyone is f*cking deaf/blind.
On GoO, Zatar and Jabal sometimes when all the Blackhawks are crashed/shot down, everyone sits on the carrier and acts like there was never any APCs or boats to use.

I don't fully agree with you here. But shouldn't we decrease the amount of tanks, apc or any other equipment? On a map such as jabal I would prefere only to see 2 apc's and 2 choppers. That is togheter in total 8 people who is sitting in a vhicle. Then you still have 24 other people who can be just infantary. If we create something for PR we will try to adapt it to the game.
If people don't want to take the boats or APC's. Their fault that they will loose the game. Maybe next time they will think better about it. And I am 100% sure that there are enough people around who DO take the boat and who DO take the APC.
Remember that in PR winning the game doesn't mean hold all the flags or have the best assets. It is often that the team does the teamwork & know what it is doing.

and you can't really knock an idea because some PR players are too A.D.D to concentrate on the benefit of the team and others.
As soon as you start to compensate for idiotic behaviour soon that's what it's all about :(

On a 32 player side, with helis and APCs... 4 2 man teams of transporters, 4man APC squad and 4man Blackhawk squad, would make 8, plus 4 squaads of six players to be transported, 24 + 8 = 32.

So outlawz, I diagree; the two additional copilots merely make the numbers add up about right.

co-pilots in a non-Realism game is pointless.

someone else said that the minimap + friendlies makes up for the fact that we dont have map-wide radio support.

nail on the head. It's bad enough they removed minimap from players, to take it away from pilots would be retarded.

Aren't we playing project reality? :|

Wouldn't you say that having a CO gives map wide radio support? Also squadleaders have the team wide radio controls for Extraction, Vehicle is on the way and commands to spot the enemy.
Though I would agree that something like challenging would be useful in identifying friendlies

How is it bad the players dont have minimaps? PR Squad cohesion & communication has never been better It's because of this that I suggest the Co-Pilot to be able to see the map but not the pilot.

Pilots will no longer physically be able to go buggering off alone because they consider themselves too good to rely on others, they'll NEED teamwork with their co-pilot.

Also just consider how much better transport choppers will actually transport people with Co-Pilots who obviously are there because they want to navigate the chopper, directing the pilots to extraction zones where they are most needed and guiding them away from enemy AA along with giving general advice on the current situation.

Also to me the lack of a teamwide radio gives more reason to have a dedicated co-pilot to navigate a blind pilot to where he needs to be... Otherwise (like we have right now) Mr. Ub3r hops in his chopper and his skill (which usually is shit) is the only thing which decides whether that black hawk will be transporting troops or transporting fresh air

Cain... from now on you are my hero.
[R-MOD]Mongolian_dude: ...remember to show as much respect to the new players as the veteran players. Todays 'noob' is tomorrow's 'Vet'.

Reddish_Red: We're fine...

Random.. ehmmm... "player": Give me the chopper. No. I want to fly. No. But I want to, get out from it now or I TK you. ... ... ... No

this game strives for realism, yet this should not be the way about making it more "realistic"....

As someone who has done many supply drops and cold/hot drops in any heli related map I'd say you've just signed their death warrants OP. Having a good gunner is already hard enough with him not being bored enough waiting in the heli but a dedicated co-pilot is going to be another stretch for essentially a critical function of my Transport Heli.

It is a good idea though but with our 64 cap and general sapian stupidity I'm afraid its as good as communism

Actually mate, there's been a round on Jabal when the Blackhawks were used a gunships AND transports at the same time, and it was quite epic on the MEC side, it was the only time I've ever feared the sound of rotors instead of thinking "Come get some", because those gunners were GOOD, and SLAUGHTERED US.

-------

As for Cain's original suggestion, I endorse it ALL except the minimap removal, until signal smoke renders at a distance for pilots; like that video I posted, you can see me land in green smoke, but during the round I didn't see it because I was off-screen when it was deployed.

I especially like the sliding doors, always wanted them, ever since I played BF2, and tbh I think I'll start making Blackhawk crews of 4 people.

Pilot
Co-Pilot (For now, asking people where to etc, and telling them if an areas too hot - Basically types for me whilst I fly.)
Gunner #1
Gunner #2 (At least if they're in my squad I can control them over VoIP!)
