GL / Minigun power

i just suggest some random suggestions:

First,i was talkin with a friend thats in the dutch army and we were talkin about miniguns.
i think the minigun should be a bit more stronger and would be able to kill a light vehicle (humvees/vodniks/nanjings etc..)in 2 seconds.. i dont think you realy need like 5 seconds to kill a light vehicles coz when you shot for 1 second in R/L you should have penetrated the whole car. :P
and it would be nice if the minugun gets a crosshair like the militia's anti tank emplacement, to make it abit more accurate :)
and some more spread of bullits instead of a laser beam of bullits, to make it more power full when dropping off friendlie troops in hostal zones

second, Doesnt an GL kill a light vehicle in one or 2 shots?
i think the explosion would kill atleast the infantry inside,, or get them in blurry state immeadtly (i spelled that wrong i think xD)


Anyway.. some suggestions and i hope their will be looked on

Making the minigun stronger has been suggested already, and yes, i'd also like to see it a bit more powerful.

Not sure about the GL.

I don't, for some reason the rounds are explosive. Wth? It should just have a super fast rate of fire and some spread, but not explosive rounds.

the mini gun needs to have a fire rate higher then 1800, to do this you need to add a batch size, this allows for 2 or more bullets to be fired at once.

Didnt they give the minigun splash damge because the engine doesnt support realistic minigun rates of fire?

Balance issues aside this is a good suggestion.

If only they included that minigun jeep? :wink: (if som1 could bump that topic for a laugh, i'd appreciate it :lol:

They are replacing the M60s with M240s but that doesn't matter, like hell we're getting rid of the miniguns! ;)

All good with that, but you cant add a crossair to the minigun, its pretty hard to keep steady while shooting

IF we ever get around to getting a new chopper, itll have the ,240[i think thats the name?] But, for now, the miniguns are staying since we cant just edit the EA model. :'(

I would prefer them stronger also, They seem a tad underpowered, I feel useless as the gunner... But, I might just suck ;)

Yeah...all those M60s floating around....

Anyhow, the miniguns are not part of the primary BH model, but I don't know how much leeway there is to change what is attached to the model. I'm assuming they're allowed to subtract but not add, which would mean we could have an unarmed BH, but not one with M240s.

As far as the GLs go, I do think we need some evidence one way or the other.

OPK has Vanilla's boats with MG3's instead of M249's... so replacing weapons on vanilla vehicles seems possible?

Well, maybe its because the minigun is different and has more of a "conection" to the vehicle than other MG's or smth

It doesn't. I went into the object editor and removed both miniguns from the BH.
The AAA must be removed from maps with no opposing air assets. It should not be used against ground targets. In fact, it should have a sweep angle above the horizon to prevent its use against ground targets.
Many countries that use AAA also use it against ground targets. It is very effective against all sorts of vehicles and infantry, has a long effective range, and is just a nasty weapon overall. I think PR accurately reflects this. AAA against ground targets is nothing new, germans used their 88 effectively against both ground and air, and I'm sure they were not the first.

?? Can't edit. Not as in can't physically do it, rather I am pretty sure we are legally not allowed to. That sort of "can't" ;)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong[incredibly possible], but thats why the chopper hasn't been changed.

[although Im all for changing it out and keeping it on the down low, you know, not including it in the readme, etc.] :)

88's have a slower rate of fire, and IIRC were mainly used on armored targets rather than infantry.

The M134 miniguns are a model as is the Blackhawk. One simply takes the minigun models off the blackhawk model...Hey Presto! We aren't actually editing the model (as the miniguns are a seperate model to the blackhawk) in doing this so from a legal perspective I don't see the problem.

Because we would then be adding the other, non EA guns to the model. Honestly, Im not positive, but don't you think the DEVs would have done it if it was this simple?

I remember this being one of the first ideas I read when I started looking at the forums back in late '05/early '06 and that was the reasoning given.

I wish we could just take the mini's out and drop in the new ones, I really do.
