It will be 80% urban, focusing on the edge of the city, backing onto some rural terain. I am pretty sure there will not be any tanks, they would just get too owned, and I want it to focus on Infantry combat, there will be lots of enterable buildings and breachable doors/gates so expect some intense battles. It should play quite differrently to Al Basrah, because of the lack of large open spaces. But dont get me wrong, its not karkand v3, Im being VERY careful to ensure the end result doesnt result in a spam fest.

Another old lowres shot, gives an idea on the average kind of street in it. Remind you of anywhere? hehe

Gay seems to be the theme of this thread (insert smiley here)

it only said no tanks, there will probably be lighter vehicles such as hmwwvs and maybe APCs.

Methinks he doth protest too much  /jk jk

Looks like a sweet map.

Perhaps they will make a version similar to counter attack where you get vehicles after some time. Being a modern army and not having armour feels so wrong  but It does happen.

PR needs ALOT more maps with urban ONLY INF fights.

Like Ejod/Basrah without the shitty open areas.
Both Ejod and Basrah have armor though...

But the thing is though, the urban environment gives a real edge to infantry. With armor or not, such a map would be dominated by Infantry. Also, given that both Fallujah and Al Anbar don't appear to have large hills and mountains overlooking the city, there's no way you could have a tank sit up on a ridge and provide overwatch for most the game (Like tanks do on Kashan and Al Kufrah). Although tanks can do this on Ejod, there's usually enough cover to obstruct their view to make that tactic effective.

Given that, I wouldn't mind seeing two tanks and a few APCs on both maps.

That's Muttrah V2, and if I understand Rhino correctly, this isn't the map he was talking about as this map has been showcased quite often.

That's Mattrah V2, and Rhino just said it would have some enterable buildings not all of the.

But nevertheless, that map looks pretty freaking awesome...

Edit: Dangit Terranova beat me by seconds.... :(
