Project Reality Mod Future !!

Post by Fatal-M »

what made me do this is that this mod made me even more addicted to the game and actuely spending hours playing online ! i mean by hours over 5 or 6 hours ! :)

what bothers me is that ! i saw and read alot of articles about an upcoming BF3 so that will actuely make the BF2 abit forgotten ! (i mean from patches) and that will limit the growing community of PR on the long range !

what im asking for or hoping to get answer's for is what can we do to make this PR mod grow over the years and grow ever faster !

the same way those guys (dev's) give us and try to offer the best in online gaming or gaming in general well we have to do something in return so what can we do :D ??

The [R-PUB] team are hard at work, making sure the rest of the online (and sometimes offline) world know about PR.
[R-PUB]s will become 'diplomats' to sites assigned to them, where we suspect we can get through to the right players, to grow and improve the player base of PR.
Usually, the mod gets most publicity and players when new releases are released.
What keeps the players here, is the promise of improvement and it's dedicated and respectful player base. So its really the players that bring the players.

With that said, remember to show as much respect to the new players as the veteran players. Todays 'noob' is tomorrow's 'Vet'.

Hey devs seaking of which, is there any chance of you actually modding the bf3 engine once its out there for a while? Bf3 project reality! Wow that sounds tasty (and kinky!) Who knows, if they get animators they could preety much do anything! It would be an interesting idea but it poses a problem. I know the devs are at full time work with the current PR so they would have to abandon this to get to bf3 PR, and i think that they worked too hard on this to just leave it behind... its a compelling argument both ways. What the guy who posted this forgets is that players love BF, just like in the past i have played "delta force2" people are STILL making custom maps and playing online with that game, and its i think about 10 years old, i could be exxagerating but yeah, its an old game. I believe this MOD will survive a couple of more years to come, the devs are doing a fantastic job.

BF3 will require a top end pc. PR needs more than vBF2 but not as much, therefore leaving a greater player base for BF2 in general.

Whilst introducing lots of neat things into BF3, they could make the same mistake of making it for the masses, not being realistic, so players from this community will go to BF3 and come back in the most likeliest of situations.

BF2/{R won't last forever, but look around the pc gaming market, in the FPS arena is there really any other FPS that gives the same realism and teamplaying ability yet? We need to hit up the core vBF2 players, somehow advertise to them to bother downloading and trying PR. We won't suit the majority of them, but they all need reaching somehow. Community is where it is at, as previous mods have displayed.

BF3 is coming its nearly the same as bf2 for all I know they just took out what I think the regular vbf2 dude liked like 1337 spec ops and 1337 sniporz and made it into a game packet called bf3.

bf3 is yet far too come, and bf2 will still live on for a long time. even when bf3 comes out, not like we cant bf2 pr while the devs try and cook something up on bf3 once SDK's come.

I dont want to be forced in buying Vista and a high-end system if DX9 is good enough to play a superb teamplaying game... :P

80 players, fully destructible environments, urban maps set in middle east, how could you not be at least slightly exited about the prospect of having all this in PR?

This is the only thing I would like to see in PR (more players).
Fully destructible environments... sounds nice but I can play without it.

Because I don't want to sit playing 0.7 or 0.8 for around two years while the team transfer across all their hard work and effort into a new engine?

Look at Forgotten Hope 2... *how* long were they working on that mod?!

I'd rather keep mining for slightly flawed (slightly buggy, 64p max, coding nightmare) gems than switch to a completely new mine for a result that may be shinier than what we're already getting.

Only thing i would like in PR now is more players, I’m excited about bf3 though and no doubt will get it, but I’ll keep playing PR because it will have much better team play and obviously be more realistic.

Bf2 is still alive and will be for a long time... like most games (hey i still sometimes play the Unreal Tournament form like 1999, infact i prefer it to any of the newer UT's).

EA/Dice Still havent officially anounced anything yet about the status of updates for vBF2 coming to an end, which well aware (everyobody on EA forums seem to think the same thing) that there will be no more patches after 1.41, it's been, what 2 years now?
So ye, EA and Dice suck. Infact they sucked even more after the release of 2142, what a pile of crud, what a joke.

It's gonna be hilarious seeing how they manage to screw up "BF3"... can't wait! :-D lol

Sure PR will last a long time, if the updates come frequently...I'm not being greedy or anything, but once every 6 months or so will keep it alive, just make sure the period of time is shorter than what Ea/Dice ever managed. :) he he

DFLW (Delta Force Land Warrior)still has huge following and was released in 2000... So the reality is whilst people are still enjoy the game style they will continue to play it....
