CHopper pilot suggestion when injured

Post by ralfidude »

Iv been thinking about something for a bit, and i was wondering if it were possible to rethink the pilot position in the game. We know that the devs have already done pretty crazy stuff with pilots, planes, choppers, etc. but my suggestion is this. Since devs want reality, how about making the pilots a bit more difficult and real by if a pilot is injured (probably mainly in the LB) he cannot use the chopper anymore even if he gets a medic, due to his injury he should not be able to operate a chopper anyway. While in flight offcourse he will still be able to pilot the chopper like it is now but offcourse the bleed effect will come in and naturally the pilot will want to get to a safe zone or back to base to patch himself or get a medic, so once he gets out he wont be able to operate the chopper or a plane untill he dies and spawns again in full health conditions. In reality a single shot wound would totally disable a pilot so its not that far fetched.

That makes no sense. It's a no from me.

Or rather, it makes sense, but I don't think there's any reason for it other than for personal gain to wound pilots so that you can fly instead.

how can you get to a safe zone if you cant fly the chopper anymore?

-1 to this idea, i dont like it at all.

Whatever stops a pilot from flying after being shot, stops anyone else from fighting/driving also. Bad idea imo.

Yeah sure! Then the next time I get shot by a teammate in my chopper while I'm taking off I can't fly anymore. Awesome.

Bad idea.

Completely unnecessary. If the pilot is noticeably wounded, he'll just fly back to base and cry for a medic anyway, thus getting him off the battlefield for a couple minutes.

I agree with the others - bad idea.

Ok maybe didnt word myself correctly. If a pilot is already in the air, he gets wounded, there would be no way for that pilot to really fly anything anymore. If a medic does patch him up then he shouldnt be able to operate a chopper or plane. I have seen videos of infantry getting shot and they got patched up and kept on fighting cuz they had no choice, therefore an infantry getting shot and patched up still makes sense, but when talking about a pilot it should be different. An armor driver and gunner would still be able to fight on as well. For the person who said something about how would apilot be bale to get to a safe zone, u didnt read what i said correctly. If already in the air in lets say the littlebird, you are bleeding out but youre not dead, just like it is right now, but once you land and get out to patch up or get medics help, you shouldnt be able to get back in. If youre teammate shoots u when ur in the chopper then tough luck, he shouldnt be doing that either. Its a stupider idea to have to wait for a kit you just got for another minute because u just got tked and it was not youre fault.

That's not only an impressively bad idea, it's probably impossible. If a pilot gets wounded, there is absolutely no reason to handicap his flight ability.

Nobody will mod the game just so you can take potshots at LB pilots with some success.
