I'm all out of ideas. Unless your ingame settings also have hardware acceleration options. i had EAX turned off for a while, but i think i am able to enable it.

I wish I could afford a sound card, but my kids have to eat...

I can't check the Mic boost-box, in the game sound option. Does anyone know why this could be?
If you can read this the ***** fell off.

its in the "\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\000x"
check the "Profile.con" for which is the right folder (your nick should apear 3 times)

and change in the "Audio.con"

Code: Select all

AudioSettings.setVoipBoostEnabled 0
to

Code: Select all

AudioSettings.setVoipBoostEnabled 1
after that, right click on the "Audio.con", properties -> tick "Write Protected", hit OK

I believe it's a problem with integrated AC97 soundcards. I had the same problem, VOIP didn't work or worked for a short time, but then dissapeared. Bought a separate soundcard for 20€, everything works just fine.

I had the same problem too a while back. I had to open up ports 55100-55199 on my router because my routers firewall was blocking VOIP.

I have a seperate soundcard, and before that i had no troubles with voip so that rules out the router problem.
I did what Snipingcoward suggested, and it seems to have upped the mic signal a bit although i still can't check that box in the sound setup menu.
Thanks for the help BTW.
