Being a driver of an armor i have had trouble being quick enough warning or telling the gunner about hostiles around. I dont have facts, but im sure that in real life, you would have some communication besides speech to work with the gunner.

I suggest that a driver is able to mark a degree on the gunners compass, so you could simply, over VOIP tell the gunner that you have marked a target on the compass. I dont see that this would make too great of an advantage or removing some of the difficulties of controlling an armor, but simply make it more easy to communicate with the gunner.

I actually like the idea of being able to set marks on the compass, an alternative would be to set an attack marker, if the driver is SL.

I think some compass markers would be a great idea, coupled with gun stabilization we would almost have real tanks!

But that probably won't happen :(

Well each tank should be it's own squad anyways imo and in that case the driver should be the squad leader then from there you can just use the attack markers. :p

Or you can just say the degree of the target.
