BattleField 2 Weapons
Hey guys,
Ive been using the PRMM mod for so long now, that i want to share a few things with ya'll.
I know that the PRMM Mod Team are working their asses off. But i really really really want to find a mod that lets u use a LSW, Lightweight Support Weapon used in the British army. i have tried to mod it my-self (but i so suck) so can someone tell me where i can get it ? or help me make it ?
Thanks ! - Sky

As an LMG, yes. It does smoke pubes.Xeno426 wrote:But the gun's a piece of shit. I'd use the M60 over that piece of junk.
As a weapon, its not shit. Its quite accurate (more so than the L85) and has increased stability. May soon be re-designated as a Marksman weapon.

How can you say that when you have 1 - probably never used it on Ops, and 2 - it has a totally different role than an M60 ?Xeno426 wrote:There's already a thread about the LSW, in this very same forum, called "L86 LSW". But the gun's a piece of shit. I'd use the M60 over that piece of junk.
The LSW - is a LIGHT Support Weapon the M60, is a HEAVY machine gun, you cannot compare them?
The LSW is a "specialist" weapon.
If you are going to comment at least know the subject ?

It is so true...... The m60 is an unfair comparison. I would use a 7.62 x 51mm Bren Gun.... These are super reliable and very effective in the lsw role.Xeno426 wrote:There's already a thread about the LSW, in this very same forum, called "L86 LSW". But the gun's a piece of shit. i used the Lsw in the cadets, i can tell u, it is a very good weapon and will kick ***, plus i really like the fact that the Lsw has the scope of the SA80 (since it was adopted from the SA80 family). Lsw is realiable, theres nothing wrong with it, i used it for 2 years and im very happy that i had to carry the massive thing around, plus, i once got to angry at the opposing team (at camp) and shot a 1.000 bullets in a minute, totally smoked them all.
its a great weapon, but EA is being Biased and using only American rifles for the SAS in Special Forces (we all know the SAS will kick American *** anyday anywhere).

Heh, i can not wait to read an americans reply to that last comment.
And lets just say that unless you have fired a variety of weapons in that and other classes you can not give an opinion on how 'good' the weapon actually is.
Personally i have fired the LSW and most of the SA80 family weapons but i have never fired any other types of weapon. All i can say is how do you work out that the weapon is bad???

Most of the SAS' kits in SF are H&K produced, H&K being German.EA is being Biased and using only American rifles for the SAS in Special Forces (we all know the SAS will kick American *** anyday anywhere).
Im not going to even bother mentioing your last comment.

i know H&K are german, duh.
Im just saying, why couldnt EA make it so that each army actually had their REAL weapons, i never saw a Terrorist with a G3 before...The only german weapon i know of that it used in the Army is the MP5, Mp5K and the sorts.
Plus, it doesnt take a brain surgen to figure out that EA is a bunch of lazy gits
I mean, they could of had at least made the SA80A2 for SF.
the info for the LSW is :
Caliber: 5.56x45mm NATO
Weight: 7.3 kg empty, with SUSAT optical sight
Length: 900 mm
Length of barrel: 646 mm
Feeding: detachable box magazines, 30 rounds
Rate of fire: 610 - 775 rounds/min

OR, a good weapon to use in a stationary would be :
Gorjunov SG-43 and SGM
In sick of the same old gun mounts, its boring having to shoot a RPK-74 from stationary every minute. At least the Gorjunov SG-43 and SGM was built for staionary use and kicks total ***, here are the specs :
Caliber: 7.62x54mm R
Weigth: 13.8 kg gun body; 41 kg on wheeled mount
Length: 1150 mm
Length of barrel: 720 mm
Feeding: belt, 200 or 250 rounds
Rate of fire: 500 - 700 rounds/min
Muzzle velocity: 800 m/s
and yes this weapon is Russian !! lol
Better yet a AS50 sniper rifle would be cool, but these things are hard to make, i shud just shut up now

From what I've been told by british troops, the L85 is a terrible weapon, even in its A2 incarnation. It would stand to reason that the L86 is in the same boat.
UK_FORCE: The M60 is not an HMG. That role is reserved for M2 .50's. The M60 would be what we call a General Purpose Machine Gun, or GPMG. Also, as far as I know the M60 has been almost completely replaced by the FN M240 or the FN MAG (called the C-6 here in Canada).
