Small, but slightly annoying CAS problem

Hey guys, did a search and came up with nothing, so here goes...

I always have a blast flying CAS in Kashan as either the A-10 or the Su-27, but I'm encountering a small problem with the Laser-targeted missile system. Whenever I fire at a locked-on target, I fire two missles at once. I don't hold my trigger down, I don't accidentally double-click, but for some god-darned reason, the game thinks I've fired off two missles. Ain't a graphical bug either, as I see the missile count decrease int he HUD. It's aggravating watching a second ATG missile rocket out of your launch pylon almost the exact same time the first one is launched, especially when you know that the first one is perfectly capable of can-opening any tank with just one hit. While not that major of an issue, it's sort of annoying to have to fly back, land, and rearm after using all of your missles on two targets.

It's happened to me both in the A-10 and the Frogfoot, so maybe I have some setting somewhere that's turned on that's making the game do this? Feedback, or confirmation of this event will all be appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. I've moved back to my dorm in Italy and I'm now flying via KB&M as I couldn't bring my joystick :( Same problem.

hmmm ive had the same problem but only one missile fires. stange......

Wait....what? Unless there's some sort of automatic missile launcher equipped on ground support aircraft, you SHOULD only be firing one missile when you push the trigger. My problem is even though I press the trigger once, I fire two missles at a time, like I'm on burst mode with the missiles.

Or are you just being sarcastic and I'm too daft to pick up on it?

We noticed the 2 missile issue when outside the aircraft and seeing it fire, but not the other way around. It's a really annoying bug we couldn't fix. The first "missile" looks like it's a ghost one that doesn't actually do anything and the second one is the real tracking one.

But your report is something else that we didn't experience.

I also had problems with laser designation, although not in a plane but in the attack choppers.
My problem is that whenever a specop or commander laser targeted an enemy armor, i swithced to "laser-targeted" mode, saw the enemy, locked on it, click and... nothing. Click again, nothing.I look at the ammo-meter and i saw that 2 missieles are gone. Then my pilot said that i was shooting the missiles up(!) in the air. (The target was locked on, im 100% sure)
This hapened on both Quinling and Kashan with the cobra and the Z-10.
So whenever I saw an enemy armor and get a lock-on i had to switch back to "laser-guided" mode to take it out. Strange thing is that i never heard anyone having the same problem...

Sometimes it fires all 4 for me.... Quite a waste.

Is there something buggy with the laser-targeting concept in general then? Just something to look into when you DEVs happen to have any free time devoted to PR rather than spending it on blow and hookers =P

I posted this bug report a while ago as well. I did some experimenting, and I've found that firing missiles without a laser target to fire it at will only fire one at a time (intended).

Isnt this just like when you throw a field dressing or some smoke grenades sometimes, you see 2 of them land on the ground and then shortly after one disapears... :-?

I wish it was like that, but with this I get a lock on target, see two missles launch and see two explosions on the ground...maybe my keys are sticking or something. Will try to get a video or something next time I fly.

I have this exact same problem too. I have two missiles fired. My missile count goes from 4 to 2. It's extremely annoying.

Found the problem why they can fire more than 1 missile at once, it's an extremely easy fix. It can be changed in the tweak file with notepad :D

ObjectTemplate.fire.roundsPerMinute 900

Should be less than that and it'll stop the multi-fire. Also adding ObjectTemplate.fire.addFireRate 0 will prevent multi-fire on it's own without changing the RPM.

Has to be in a patch though as it's server-side

i have the same problem, clicking once, firing two missiles with hud-counter falling from 4 to 2. does the 0.75patch already contain the above suggested objecttemplate change? or does it not and i am clicking too often or too long?

nah its 2missiles for the first lock everytime, which effectively makes the loadout 3 rockets

HEY why dont u give us more missiles then , if u give us 8 and it will fire 2 at once then it's good again.
and every1 gots the same problem in he A-10 missile system.
k i saw on the furom some1 is gonne make a new sound in the A-10 (because it"s annoying).
but can u pls tell us when it's ready

yeah i fire all four at once, maybe if the dev's gave 4 magazines for the laser bombs this would counter it ! each time you fire you shoot 4 yes but you will reload until no more magazines
